I'm aware that a number of anime fans here on the boards like getting ahold of that latest show that has yet to be defiled by a licensing company with their dirty, filthy...ENGLISH AUDIO! *thunder clashes*

Remember, fansubs are still concidered piracy by the terms of the law.  Even though the animation studios in Japan turn the other cheek and, in most cases, support fansubbing, it is still illegal, and Adult Swim does not condone illegal activity.

Discussing fansubbing is quite fine, as people are gonna want to brag about their latest catches, or talk of the newest show that most haven't seen yet, but we can't have you passing out links to fansubbing sites or passing out names of groups that perform such jobs.

Discussing this will come at a limit though on the boards.You cannot openly admit to downloading these files. Yes, I know that sounds a bit...off, but doing so admitts to committing an illegal act.

Wow, the Ninja Mod shows himself.

As far as posting fansub links go, this folder isn't really that bad about it.

When someone does post a link, he/she has thirty people jump down his/her throat instantly, me being one of them.

They usually edit their post without much hassle, but thanks for the warning anyway.

I think Mesoian is talking about fansites dedicated to certains series. (Like Bleach or Naruto) They're good places to go to get info on the series but they usually have links to the torrents on the front page.

It can be hard due to the fact that some great information sites also have torrents, but it is a good policy regardless.

Fansubs are anime episodes or movies that have had translated subtitles added into an anime unofficially (Meaning they're not getting paid to do so usually, and release them for free unlike bootleggers).  These are usually done for shows that, at the moment, are not being dubbed by a licensing company here in the States.

Most Legit sites take the fansubs down once a show has been licensed.
