I'm in absolute shock. I thought this would NEVER come over here, especially since the show has never been mainstream here. Among the anime community it is, but among the general population, it never was.

The Bleach game that came out over the Summer sold much better than it. I doubt it would sell anywhere near that.

Especially since launch copies had a promotional thing for 3 free episodes off of the PlayStation Store, and it's much, much more popular than One Piece. I mean it ranks 2nd in popularity on MAL even (Why it's higher than Naruto's popularity, I'll never know.).

On a side-note, the Bleach game is the only game I've ever bought on launch date.

That's why it's so funny. Because of how huge a franchise like Bleach is over here.

Hell, the Fate/Extra game sold over 100k on the farking PSP. And you would think there would be a lot more Bleach fans that own a PS3 than Type-Moon fans who own a PSP here in the US.

A lot of Americans think anime is about Power Levels and shouting your attacks while you do them.

This is one of the reasons i hate anime fans in the US.

One Piece collectors got the last laugh since the resale value on that One Piece game is considerably higher, a new copy can get you up to 200 bucks on Amazon and a used around 80. Funny since I bought mine for 19.99 in the cheap bin before it went out of circulation. But hey that Bleach game still pulls in around 100 new on Amazon which is more than can be said for a lot of games.

Now let me take a moment to cry jubilation. I was all set to import Pirate Warriors but now I'm glad to hear I wont have to.

I hear it's the Dynasty Warriors spin-off of One Piece, which means you're really going to have to be a OP fan to enjoy it cause DW is well-known for being the "Press Square to Win" game and the one DW game I have (Gundam 3) is fun mostly because of the novelty of mowing through hordes of red shirts with your favorite Gundam's (that and the laughable Canadian dub done for undubbed shows like Victory, After War, Turn A, etc). As for other anime games, I don't trust all that many of them after I got ripped off with the Wii Bleach game

It didn't look like DW unless you count the hordes of enemies.

There appeared to be some variety in combos. Still hack-and-slash, though.

The DW games have combos, two specials, and team specials which is a saving grace from being completely monotonous. Wonder if they'll use the FUNi dub or they'll go with other options like sub-only or in-house VAs, because usually the dialogue is so badly written and hilarious in those games that it's worth taking note of

The Bleach game is already OOP? I looked on Amazon and you can only get it from sellers, wow. Glad I got my copy on launch day for $60 at Gamestop.

Kinda funny how much it's going for on Amazon considering the game isn't all that well-received.

Filing for a trademark doesn't equal a definite release, but it does mean that they're considering it which is exciting.

It doesn't surprise me since OP has a lot of fans in the states, and backed with the Dynasty Warriors label it could sell for decent numbers.

The only problem is I bet a lot of people will just pirate this instead. *shrugs* 

But if they do release it here I really hope they include the sub voices or I'm just going to import it instead. Funi's dub is nice, but it's far from the original.

I haven't actually pirated a game on ps3 so I'm not entirely familar with how it works, but my understanding is that you hack the console itself then run the data on it. 

There are downloads for the data and I don't think its a disc image necessarily, but I might be wrong. In either case, actually burning it isn't necessary since if you hack the console you can just run it with a program instead. And of course the ps3 is equipped with USB ports and such so an actual disk isn't necessary either.

Run it with a program? Like off a USB drive? There has to be some storage for the game data, regardless if the console needs to be hacked or not.

I'd assume the storage would be the memory on the ps3 itself. 

If you're so curious about the specifics, you're welcome to google it yourself. But I'm positive you don't need a burner.

well, there's that too. i've heard both.

either way, its only on the ps3, and the ps3 targets mostly gamers who enjoy anime-esque / Final Fantasy style games. essentially, if people want it, they'll get it. if it was ported to the xbox 360, it prolly wouldn't be popular, since most 360 gamers are mostly into games like mw2/3, battlefield, assassin's creed, etc.
