A BLEACH RANT, voice actors.

To be a bit more concise, english va's.

Specifically the va for kiske urahara.

As some of you may have already noticed,  the va has changed or the style has changed or however you want to put it.   He used to sound smart, cool and collected.  But now he sounds like a blithering idiot.  Even in the third bleach movie "fade to black",  it's painful to hear the va for urahara.

Is it to much to ask for a little consistency?   I hate how he sounds now!

Maybe its how the character really develops. Bleach actually has one of the better dubs of any English anime dub.

You know what Bleach's real problem is? Not enough Tatsuki and Kenpachi...

On topic: I'll take silly Urahara over angsty, same-battle-grunts-over-and-over Ichigo...

Character development?  You can't be serious,  so how does a change in VA pitch or change in VA equal character development?  The original VA does not change, but the dub version does.  Sorry but it has nothing at all to do with character development.  Urahara's character is one of, if not the smartest character in bleach.  So in the dub, sounding like an idiot feels disingenuous.  As for the dub being one of the better ones, it's merely slightly above average these days.  I do agree that the English VA for ichigo is brilliant and very convincing.  Now if you where to compare the dub of bleach against the dub of evangelion, then yes bleach is way better.

Considering viz does the dub, than again yes it is one of the better ones done by viz save a few errors of va's not being consitant.

Um huh,  it's not silly urahara it's sounds like a dumb hick urahara.

Bleach's real problem is too many story arcs between  the main plot, plus the main plot is resolved in episode 309.  Yet they are still going, approaching 400 episodes.

Bleach's problem is that it's been sucking for years...

I do agree with that.  Since it has been one show a week, just one story arc takes a year to get threw.

If you where to take out all the story arcs and just watch the main plot striaght threw, then it's a really good anime.

The only anime I've ever really really enjoyed the English voice acting for was Cowboy Bebop. I thought their choices were superb.

Also, most of the Studio Ghibli English versions are decent. Not all great, but decent.

Other than that, English voice dubs make me cringe. I'd rather not watch the show entirely than watch it in English. The same goes for non-anime movies, as well.
