I had a panic attack today

Again I know this isn't me screaming around how the world is unfair but just wanted to lay some feelings out again

I had today perfectly planned. I've been lagging behind in school and today was going to be perfect

8 am > advising

9 am > finish sculpture then class

12 pm go get English book

1pm eating time?

2-4 start working on math homework

5 do all English readings for class, and quiz

6 relax for rest of night

Great right? Except no. My alarm went off at nine so, I flip the hell out and am rolling around screaming crying, getting my stuff together

and when I get in this moment of hysteria I hit myself a lot. And I made myself have a bloody nose. Sooo  I went to class with my bloody nose, my partner for my sculpture was mad cause I come in early to help finish vomit man(we named the sculpture) thankfully critique went well, and I got a new appointment for later and today's still playing out....

But anyone Im mostly just here to say I hate panic attacks. Im literally helpless with myself, I can't fiction, I can't think, I can't move, I'm really mean and I cry and scream and its awful, and sad thing is I can remember always having them....

That sounds awful. I know people (well one person) who gets those and it sounds like hell.

Is there any medication you can take for that sort of thing?
We're all in it together, kid.

Would you please, please get some help? Whatever is going on with you is not going to go away by itself, and it's not something you can conquer by sheer force of will. Please, get in touch with a psychiatrist or a councilor; what you're feeling sounds like it's awful, and awful is not cured by hope.

Oh wow, that does sound awful. My panic attacks are just me crying and having trouble breathing, but I've never actually hit myself. That's really scary. You should see a therapist about that, I know there are some medications that can help with this sort of thing.

Is that really a panic attack or just panic?

A real panic attack would probably be so crippling that you wouldn't be able to function at all.

If that gives you a panic attack, you're going to love the real world.

I shouldn't have gotten you that button that says you love panic attacks.

Sounds like its just panic and not a panic attack. Scoobdog is right, a panic attack has you frozen in your footsteps. While your heart rate shoots threw the roof, mimics a heart attack so to speak. What causes you to hit yourself is most likely a nerological disorder of some kind.

And yes the is medication for panic attacks, for those who asked.

It amazes me that so many people I know have these things, I can't imagine what it would be like. I suppose something like the muscle spasms I get in my stomach which can cause me to writhe rather violently. Those are unpleasant but there is no sense of panic or fear about them, just pain.

Really when you think about it the sensation of fear is far worse than that of pain. I wouldn't trade conditions if it were possible and the only advice I can offer is to bear in mind that things can always be worse. Accept what you have, and look forward to what you want. You might beat the crap out of yourself in a blind frenzy but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the sun and flowers on a nice day at the park afterward. Life can svck, but its pleasant enough to make it worth the svckage. at least for me it is.
