Adult Swim will once again go against the television grain this fall when the network releases nine full episodes ofRobot Chickento DVD and Blu-ray before they ever see the light of day - err, dark of night? - on air. In an unprecedented move, fans of the Emmy Award-winning stop motion series from co-creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich will be able to watch nine episodes from the upcoming second half ofSeason Fiveon DVD before they air on Adult Swim. With the second half ofRobot Chicken's fifth season debuting just days earlier,Robot Chicken Season 5will be released on DVD and Blu-ray beginning October 25 and will feature all 20 uncensored episodes from the series' two-part fifth season, including nine never-before-seen episodes and, asRobot Chickenfans have come to expect, hours and hours of bonus features, including exclusive Blu-ray and DVD features.

In another series' first, theRobot Chicken Season 5Blu-ray release marks the first time an entire season ofRobot Chickenwill be available in high-definition. Among the season's 20 episodes that include the series' signature sketches fueled by biting pop culture parodies are episodes with titles torn from big screen marquees including "Saving Private Gigli," "Schindler's Bucket List" and "Casablankman." Created by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich's Stoopid Monkey Productions, the duo executive produce and write the smash hit comedy with Chris McKay directing, co-Executive Producers Doug Goldstein and Tom Root heading the writing team. The series was awarded an Emmy Award last year for Outstanding Short-Format Animated Program while Green received his second nomination for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance.

TheRobot Chicken Season 5DVD and Blu-ray will carry the suggested retail price of $29.98 and $39.99 respectively, and will feature a host of bonus material including:

• Seven fully animated deleted scenes
• Over 50 deleted animatics with video introductions
• Episode commentary with celebrity guests
• Behind the scenes featurettes
• On-air promotions

Additionally, theRobot Chicken Season 5Blu-ray will exclusively feature alternate audio takes from various sketches throughout the fifth season, while the DVD will be the only place fans can download an exclusive, uncensored version of the "Blue Rabbits" song.

Halfway through its fifth season, the beloved stop-motion comedy series continues to be the top-rated original program on Adult Swim. In a rank of all non-sport late night programs on broadcast and cable, the series was a top 5 show among Men 18-34 and a top 10 show among Men 18-34, according to Nielsen Media Research. Robot Chicken was also a top 15 show among Adults 18-34 in a rank of all non-sport late night programs, with 9.8 million Adults 18-34 tuning in overall. The series also continues to be a success on home video, with more than 1.3 millionRobot ChickenDVDs sold to date.

Robot Chickenhas also won numerous Annie Awards. Green and Senreich are also working on Lucasfilm's animated comedicStar Warstelevision series and launch their Stoopid Monkey channel on YouTube this week (youtube.com/Stoopid Monkey) with an original eponymous new series.

Adult Swim will support the release ofRobot Chicken Season 5with a consumer marketing campaign targeting fans of the show and the network. Thirty-second television ads will be featured on Adult Swim, while online advertisements will also be featured on AdultSwim.com as well as other appropriate, fan-targeted online sites.

I'm going with the DVD, myself. Mainly because I don't have a Blu-Ray thingus but also because I'll be able to watch it on the computer with headphones on.

Don't have a DVD drive for my netbook, and judging by the listed extras on the back cover, the Blu-ray has the alternate audio takes and a Blue Rabbits sing-a-long (in addition to HD picture and sound), while the DVD only has the mp3 download...which depending on how that works, someone could just rent the DVD and download the song from there.

I just now heard the radio edit version, and while good, it's obvious that so many f-bombs wouldn't fly for free.

The character's name is Stanley Peppers. I am the actor who played the part. There is a lot more good stuff we shot that didn't make it into the finished scene.

Personally, I'd like to see Stanley Peppers get his own series.

I haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet but when I do, I'll probably run it through my computer first and scan the backgrounds with the pen. Sometimes that works, sometimes that doesn't.

I really am the actor. I played Stanley Peppers and I was in a Stride 2.0 commercial that aired on Adult Swim as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9HYgp8NQio 

I was the strangely made-up "Professor" character.

I'll be honest. I just checked in here because I heard someone commented on the promo spot. They shot a ton of funny stuff that didn't make it into the finished spot, and had ideas for even more. I had never seen an episode of Robot Chicken until after I did the promo, though I have watched it since then, and I like it.

I'm also shooting a live-action pilot next month. With any luck, it might get picked up on adult swim.
