Not only did Daria explain, in detail, what the actual procedure a FtM has to go through, the writers did an excellent job stereotyping a typical reaction by constantly barfing. Genius. Give the writers an Emmy. This kind of humor can only be compared to giant robots break-dancing, and sandwiches made out of magical unicorn mayonaise. So I can not think of a topic more appropriate. Guess what -- transsexuals DO exist, but the topic doesn't deserve that kind of reaction. Shame on you for that "joke".

I didn't take it that the barfing response was because of the actual gender change itself, it was because of all the graphic and easily visualized detail. It's like, there are some mysteries best left alone.

Another example so you don't think I'm dismissing your concern outright would be how some people just love little babies [or in my case, kittens] but very few of those same people would actually be able to watch a baby [or kittens] being born without having a very real and physically violent reaction to seeing the process. Actually, even the thought of seeing kittens being born is making me a bit nauseous and this is coming from someone who has had to carry one in her mouth because she ran out of hands.

No, he's refering to an aired channel flip where Michael Moore is interviewing all the long-lost beloved characters of the 90's and one of them happens to be Daria Morgandorfer who has since had a sex change operation and goes into great disgusting detail about the procedure which causes Moore to start vomiting.

There's only one deleted scene from that flip and it concerns Earthworm Jim and Doug Funny.

There are lots of totally ok operations out there but it doesn't mean everyone has the stomach for it. If someone explained in detail how to remove some human tissue to prevent cancer, I'm not going to pretend to not be squimish just because the procedure is helping someone with their cancer. You would be right to get angry if he barfed at the idea of a sex change but the fake Daria clearly mentioned some surgical things that not everyone is ok with hearing. You get what I mean?

I can see taking offence, as they also seem to be pointing at transexuals as "haha funny!"  The same way sixth graders feel about fat people.

But then again- Michael Moore is a huge ####.  So, when I saw the sketch I saw it more as making fun of Moore's reactionary, based-on-his-own-opinions-and-nothing else style.  An exaggeration of his ass-ness.

Of course, we're also talking about Robot Chicken, where nothing is sacred and if you haven't seen offensive material you haven't been watching.  I would think it's hard to take it as serious bigotry or anything like that, seeing as how pedophilia is a regular topic and I doubt anyone is claiming they are pro child abuse.  It isn't an editorial piece, a raunchy comedy show.  Hard to take any part of it to heart.
