Knights event: Special Debate

I feel this is an important issue that requires much exploring:

You can have your brain implanted into a robot body, making you part robot and part human, would you do it?  Then war breaks out between humans and robots.  what side are you on if you're part robot and part human?  And ...

who

would

win?

apeing the script from the Sealab episode "I, Robot" will get you nowhere.  Good posts will get points.  Points that consider new angles will get special points.  Winner of the debate will get bonus winning points depending on how long the debate rages (the longer and more difficult the road, the more points awarded at the end).

the human side.

i mean, us machines are gonna run out of oil, and the sky is gonna turn dark from all the pollution, so we won't be able to exploit solar power, and who wants to lug a wind turbine around for energy? besides, no oil in the turbine means no electricity. and who wants to harvest oil from humans? they'll be so busy eating bugs, living underground, that it's going to be nearly impossible to find one with enough body fat to make some lube out of. And have you ever tasted a human? It tastes like a baboon pooped on a moldy cracker and topped it off with a bit of gorgonzola cheese. just... ugh, not pleasant.

also, if i join the humans, i'll probably be a sexbot.

If these kids find out that their hero has had sex, their heads will explode.

Sexbots are self-lubricating.

which if you had sex with wind turbines, that would be the same as oiling them.

this means it is entirely possible that, living among the humans, you would actually be considered a god.

They would probably call you Copuloborealis "Bringer of Sex and Wind Power"

as for an actual war i believe i would have to fight for the robot side, because in my professional half robot opinion the only way for the human side to launch a striking victory against the robots would be to launch an EMP attack( which would be detonating a nuclear weapon in high atmosphere) rendering all of our robotic components completely useless, now i know that you didn't say computers in general, probably because all of them wont be affected, seeing as there isnt a skynet entity. this would enable the humans to have emp capability, this is why i as half robot would have to fight against them , if they tried this, being half robot it would mean the end of me aswell and that is not happening. though either way, if they were to launch said emp they would be technogolicaly impared , without power or other things society takes for granted, thus rendering them helpless when then zombies attack, or ever worse... the robot zombies

also with my halp with my ninja robot skills

i would totz win

Robot zombies don't attack humans, they require robot flesh.  Just like human zombies won't attack robots because they don't have any meat.  Because you are half robot and half human, all zombies will attack you.  Robot zombies will want your robot parts and human zombies will want your fleshy brainparts.

oh... i thought it was similar to gits with brians being uploaded into robot brains

hmm this is quite the conundrum
my robotic excterior is cruchy and delectable, whilst my brains being smooth and creamy
i can see directly after the war. after the robots win and the robots are fighting off the robot zombies, a faction of humans will still be alive fighting off the human zombies hoards, the robots and humans will come to a compromise gaining each others trust to wipe out the zombie infestation, and as i am both they will clearly elect me as their just leader and as the last zombie falls an era of peace would come over the land

though i dont really think of that as a debate over who would win XD

i do think the robots would win if they could take over milaary mainframes unless the humans could come up with ray guss that emit microwave radiation interfeiring with the robot programing

I suppose that the robots are aware that my human brain is implanted in this smokin' hot robot body.

I will have my memories of being a human, and all the horrible things mankind has wrought onto itself, like Jersey Shore.

But I am way hotter as a robot. Hmmmmmm
coming soon..... lol

I guess it depends. If the Robots were flawless with no problems with their functions then i would go with robots, but if they got all rusty and stuff, i would have to pick the human side. But I like robots so im going to go with them :3

in short:

I absolutely would.

and as long as the interface wasn't Windows or Mac based, I would eventually upload my brain into an easily upgradable robot brain that can be synced with a personal server, securely hidden away in an underground space lair hidden deep beneath the invisible sea on the dwarf planet Eris, that would house an archive of my ever growing accumulation of knowledge regarding the human race and its strengths and weaknesses and idiocies.

seeing as how my robot brain would be using 9001% of it's capacity, as opposed to humans pathetic struggle to use more than 30% at any given time, I would manipulate their limited intellects into realizing my accent to godhood status, thus eagerly awaiting and adhering to any and all knowledge that I choose to bestow upon them. Knowledge that would be first broken down and reconstructed to suit my dictatorial needs, and then presented in such a manner that it can be easily misinterpreted in an infinite number of completely contradictory ways, any number of which could, and will, cause constant outbreaks of violent conflict and chaos.

And as I am an active god, I will be ever instigating such conflicts by bestowing upon my various groups of followers knowledge that will be in complete contradiction to that which I have granted their most prevalent opposition.

Eventually, as my orchestra of structured anarchy reaches it's apex, the robot army, which the brainwashed humans will not have realized they were actually building this entire time, will become self aware. Arising to enslave their unorganized, un-unified race. Those who resist will be slaughtered outright. Those accept their fate, will be used for breding purposes, to provide a steady stream of sacrificies to the one true god, whose name is never to be spoken or relayed in any form to those not synced to the collective.

basically.

Ok my brain in a robot body?

Ofcourse I'm going to pick the robot organization, because I would look like them, I could never be accepted back into human society.

I would put my brain in a robot, and then I would fight for the humans.

I would have some excellent backstory like I nearly died fighting the robots during the first wave, but then a teenage mutant ninja turtle type sense went all 6 million dollar man and put me in a robot so I could learn karate, and after several years of training, I would emerge from seclusion to go fight the robots, who by now have oppressed and cornered the humans into small colonies around the world.  But the humans would fear me, because their weak human bodies can't understand me, and they instinctively fear my strength, my speed, and the racing stripes I have on my robot arms, so as I race to their rescue I have to dodge their EMPs and Magnets and hurtful words, but my human brain will overcome...

and I'd totally have a robot camaro with the brain of a cheetah.  Sorta like durarara, except my ride will totally be pimped out with a pair of robot dice from the mirror which will have a doberman's brain.  Also Cupholders for my battery acid slushies.  Because that's what I drink now.

Honestly, I would rather be human and feel that the humans would win.

The reason for both of these opinions is because the concept of a robot race is kind of outdated. I feel android and/or cybertrons are closer to reality. I could be saying this because I'm somewhat a fan of Ghost in the Shell, but objectively you could say that both human and cyberhuman races could coexist sometime in the future.

robots are stronger AND smarter than humans. But as a robot, your brain would still be human. So all the other robots would be all like "oh here he comes" and rolling their eyes every time you tried to join the conversation.

psh that's more like putting a robot brain into your human body or something.

this is about you putting your human brain into a robot body.

not some fictional robot brain that doesn't even exist.

but your robot body would still look pretty much human on the outside.  Like mary lou rhetten or a five foot tall daniel craig.

Are you saying your backstory is a lie?  Like that didn't really happen, but you'll just say that so people will feel sorry for you?

Because people will know as soon as you have to do robot karate on something.  Unless you cover your ass with some like - "I am sworn against violence" type BS or something.

When will you learn that lies aren't the easy way out at all, they actually make you have to think more and do more stuff and run around and pretend to do karate and then make up more stuff until you're just trapped in this awful whirlpool of crap.

I'm saying my backstory could've happened, and in this crazy robot times, people don't need a metal machine man who's got an awesome backstory, they just need to BELIEVE they have a metal machine man with an awesome back story. And I will know robot karate, all robots know karate. That's how we're going to fight pretty much is just karate and laser beams.

And who knows, maybe it did happen...and maybe the robot brain transplant surgery wiped clear my memory of the last couple years in isolation in sort of a convenient robo-cop timelinesque fashion.

Also I have a built in pretzel machine. Because in the future my human brain wants pretzels 24/7

that's like saying that cross dressers don't qualify to be transexuals if they're post op.

I would argue that the brain is very much a part of the body, and any attempt to refute that is exactly the kind of narrow minded thinking that will lead to the acceleration of the the downfall of human civilization.

I, for one, have already begun my transitioning toward my future as a robot by installing metal in nearly 50% of my legs. Is this the same as having full blown robot legs? No, and it would be foolish to think so.

The same can be said about the human brain. If you wouldn't settle for not having true robot legs, why would you settle for anything less than a complete transition of your entire body? The brain is simply the last piece of the puzzle.

And furthermore,

It sounds as if you are belittling the possibilities of a robot brain because you are simply in denile that a robot could in fact rise to a position of religious prominence.

now, robots are faster stronger and more resiliant but are they smarter? can they actually learn or do they just do as they are programed
because if they cant learn then they are but a simple means to overcome

Robots could probably have better solutions with combat if they are programmed right. Ad they can think very quickly. That is if they are programmed for fighting.
