it's not a big deal.  It's actually good that you share the information you have (about ADV and all that stuff).  And there's no reason we can't have it all right?  Plausibility/usefullness, fantasy/fun, and a little extra information about what's actually likely to happen and what isn't.

If you want to insert information like that into the thread without ruffling any feathers, you could always just click one of my posts and then just post whatever it is.  That way it looks like you're just kinda giving me and/or whoever else in the thread generic information about what's likely and what isn't instead of starting a back-and-forth with another poster.

But - in any event, it's not a big deal, and there's no reason we can't have it all.

of course, in this scenario the block is expanded to 4 hours.  but why not?  CN doesn't really use that last hour before their daytime block kicks off anyhow.  As would basically take the place of Time Squad and - whatever other CC show was on after AS just to kill time until the morning block kicks off.

10:00pm  Rouroni Kenshin
10:30pm  Yu Yu Hakusho
11pm  Vandread
11:30pm Animatrix
12am  Wolf's Rain
12:30 am  Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
1am  Outlaw Star
1:30 am  Blue Gender
2 am  Kikaider
2:30 am  Lupin III

Repeat 11pm-3am block (Vandread through Lupin)

I'd surely watch that but honestly... that's not [adult swim] my friend... that's Toonami (except for the AS comedies). Or at least it's [teenage fanboy swim]

I can see you make a good debate for FMA, Gokusen, Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, and One Piece but Hikaru No Go and Prince of Tennis have NOTHING objectionable nor adult about them (asside from being based on games kids don't typically play). Why don't you throw SD Gundam on there for good measure? :smileywink:

I think adult swim is right having comedy on the weekends and action during the weeks. so monday-thursday should be all action and saturday and sunday should be all comedy. there are penty of funny action shows like ruroni kenshin or full metal panic to add some laughter to action or even series as light hearted as tenchi muyo still have some good action scenes. but staying up to 1:30 to watch some kick **bleep** action like beebop and trigun is a bit rough after an hour of comedy reruns.

11- Family Guy
11:30- Aqua Teen
11:45- Sealab 2021
12- Bebop
12:30- TriGun
1-InuYasha
1:30- Birdman

Start it out with some comedy to getcha laughing, launch into some serious action with Bebop and Trigun, and then ease yourself back into a laugh to sleep on with InuYasha and Birdman last. Birdman and Family could be switched also.

I agree it seems rediculous to have to stay up so late to watch Adult Swim's anime but at the same time I see why they do it. Adult Swim thrives on it's comedy aspects. Reruns of Futurama and Family Guy get AS more ratings than any of the action shows. It'd be nice if they put some action first, then comedy, then more action, then more comedy but they aren't going to. I guess that's what VCR's are for.

Heh, well you've granted me almost all of them, since FMA and Gokusen are definitely [as] material and Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, and One Piece are very likely candidates (considering they're on par with Inuyasha).  As for Prince of Tennis, you might be right... but it's **bleep** good.  Maybe they could throw in some Paranoia Agent or something instead, heh.  And I'm gonna maintain for the 100th time that Hikaru no Go is [as] material, just because Go is definitely not a kids' game.  It's not adult as in objectionable, but it is still adult.

I would have first get rid of family guy and future rama and make room for all  animes uncut of Out law star showing at the begging of the line up  (hoping that AS could get the rights back so that it will be legal to show) then cowboy bebop comes next, Yu Yu Hackushu would be after that (if AS could take it back from toonami), then Trigun of course, then another Out Law Star, then A old clasic like voltron (he he), maybe
Tenchi Muyo cause I never seen the show before and that would be my line up hopefully that this is what you say "try to post some more plausible suggestions" but if not then I just don't understand what you mean then.

dude, Hellsing will never happen, it's on Action Channel. I'm sure AS would have picked it up by now if it hadn't been picked by Action Channel. And what's up with all the demand for Cowboy Bebop and Trigun? They're great series but I'm so sick of them. The only shows I watch on AS anymore are Family Guy, Futurama, and WHR. (and Inu Yasha when there's new episodes)

I'd just like to see them take CB and Trigun out of the lineup for good and replace them with new shows. C'mon not like you haven't seen either series a billion times? CB has been around since AS began! Seriously if you want to watch the shows daily then go buy the DVDs, they're very cheap on ebay because the demand went way down for the series since you can watch them on tv.

It'd be nice if they picked up Naruto before 4Kids gets it and mutilates it, that's a nice long running series that won't rerun quite as much. Full Metal Alchemist would be nice but it probably won't happen since the first episodes bring up religion quite a bit, then again WHR does as well so it might be possible. That one won't happen for a while though because last time I checked the series was only in its 20's?

I would only agree with Kenshin if they played the WHOLE series, same with Yuu Yuu Hakusho, I swear I have seen the same exact episodes so many times. Samurai Champloo is a long shot at the moment since it's not even out in Japan yet.

Hmm..what else would work...GetBackers, if they would actually pick up a romantic comedy it'd be nice to see Fruits Basket or Maison Ikkoku, Saiyuki or Rahxephon could work but they're on Anime Network, Full Metal Panic, Blue Seed (probably not since Action Channel has it), One Piece is more of a Toonami thing, since they're on the old school style kick (a la Cyborg 009 and Kikaider) there's the newly released Phoenix anime based on Osamu Tezuka's epic manga, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi for the FLCL-Gainax fans, Saikano, and lastly Record of Lodoss War.

I know that Hellsing is on the Action Channel, that's where I saw it when I was staying at my friend's house one night, and I thought that it would be good to see on AS, it was just a thought. I tried to think of shows that would have the greatest possibilities of actually getting on AS. If this wasn't America, the home of unreasonable censorship, I would have suggested stuff along the lines of Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments: Lain, Ranma 1/2, Macross, and Mahoromatic, even though I have access to just about all of those series through friends who have the DVDs. As for your comments towards CB and Trigun, if you don't like watching it, turn off the TV or change it. I'm guessing that you will be dissapointed with Trigun comes back on AS in April. I'm actually suprised that you would say that about CB and Trigun, but not stuff like FLCL or Lupin the 3rd, who have been on AS just as many times especially FLCL since it's only 6 episodes. That's why this was a "FANTASY" Adult Swim programming, but you know the old saying "You can't always get what you want".

Just a note. I loved having Family Guy on at 11:30 because then it didnt matter to jump to comedy central and catch Quinn's show but now you lose me for the whole Hour 11:00 to 12:00am Futurama doesnt stack up against Quinn but I did watch Futurama at 11:00 even if it was a rerun.

Ah but that's where some of your logic fails...

1) Hikaru No Go is popular among kids in Japan and it's a kids show... it'll be the same here despite Go being an old mans game. Kids like Beyblade... it's about tops. Go isn't much more of a stretch really. The manga seems to be doing well enough. It'll probably end up on Miguzi. Same goes for Prince of Tennis. Neither have objectionable content and they are very kid friendly franchises that are plenty long.

2) Hunter X Hunter not being licensed yet could go anywhere... we don't even have the manga yet. I assume Viz and FUNi will pick up the rights for the manga and anime respectively but not until after YYH is done.

3) Naruto and One Piece are not on par with Inuyasha. They are in violence and content in general but for some reason Inuyasha is marketed to 16+ by Viz and Naruto and One Piece are both marketed to 13+ (as is Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Shaman King but Kenshin is 16+ and Sean Akins himself said it should have been on Adult Swim but now it's too late to make the change). These will be shows that the distributor will want to market to either kids or teenagers (or a combonation of the both). Let's just hope it's teenagers... They are best off on the new Toonami where they could probably air TVPG if they aren't on too early (as in before 9pm or 10pm). On top of that I cannot stress enough that WS does not want another Inuyasha for Adult Swim, but they can't do much about it because it wouldn't work that well even on the new Toonami and it has an established fanbase. Fanbases are another reason why One Piece and Naruto are destined to be aired outside of Adult Swim... they have young fanbases. It's apparent at the anime conventions. Kids and teens love these series. It would be bad business not to market it to them. FUNimation has One Piece and 4kids is eyeing Naruto (with the help of FUNi I might add) as well as Viz, Geneon and some others. No one can really say how these shows will be treated but I'm 99.9999999% sure they wont air on Adult Swim... and if they do they wont last long because too many kids would watch and then the distributor as well as the CN execs would move it so that they wouldn't get in trouble with the parents of those young viewers. It'll be YYH all over again...

4) Gokusen I know next to nothing about... FMA I think would be best off on Adult Swim. Let's hope FUNimation feels the same way. Yes FUNi got FMA... they've got Kondacha and Prince of Tennis as well... Or at least they will soon.

I'm just being realistic, I have nothing against CB or Trigun since they're wonderful series, it's just they have been rerun to death. And no, I don't watch them on Adult Swim anymore because I don't want to grow tired of either series. I don't complain about FLCL because it hasn't been rerun to death like CB and Trigun, and they haven't shown every single episode of Lupin. Trigun is newer than CB on the AS line up, but it's still been rerun for a year, Cowboy Bebop has been rerun for two years. That's just a bit much, I enjoy both series, but c'mon.

As for the whole fantasy lineup, it's obviously MY fantasy that CB and Trigun would be retired, or at the least taken off for 6 months-a year to make room for NEW programming. They've at least been nice and have avoided trying to play FLCL every night for a year, holy cra.p that would be a pain.

I hate bursting people's bubbles and all but series like Hellsing and Lain and Last Exile won't happen. It's sad that Action Channel got Hellsing because a lot of people don't have that channel, heck I only have it when I come home from college. More people luckily have TechTV, but not all unfortunatley, when I'm home in Louisville it's part of normal cable to have the station, but when I go back to school in OH, I have International Channel with regular cable but not TechTV. I'm not trying to be super bltch or anything, some people don't know that certain series are on certain stations already.

Plus c'mon the name of this thread is "Action Programming Schedule Suggestions", series like Hellsing and Last Exile and Heat Guy J are now out of reach.

And Sketchor, Gokusen is a pretty fun series, I've been watching the fansubs and I recommend it. It's not a female GTO by any means and I could see it fitting in on the AS block even if it has only 13 episodes. And FMA has already gotten liscensed? That's news to me! Last time I checked ANBU-Aeon were still fansubbing it. With the high demand for the show I could easily see FMA on AS, that's if TechTV doesn't get it first. One Piece I could only see on Toonami, but Naruto I could see going both ways depending on how they treat it.
