Not true. There are a lot of great comedy anime(GTO, Ranma 1/2). AS should air more anime comedy instead of action anime.
Edit: Besides, most of the american shows on AS right now aren't funny. THe only good ones are FUturama and Family Guy.

I was talking about the American shows AS is airing right now. I liked Home Movies and Wonder Showzen but they're not in AS right now. As for TGTTM, I never saw an episode so I can't say what I think about it.

Actually, I don't think Wonder Showzen was ever shown in AS. It was only shown in MTV.

Ai Yori Aoshi, i forgot to add that to the list, it looks remarkably funny. I request that one. Yay, it has romance... whoopy, but still has comedy. AS should get it. Never know what will make a hit. This one seems popular too, i wouldnt mind seeing it here.

I agree with GTO. I've watched a few episodes and I think it would do well on [AS]. The Great Teacher Onizuka deserves [AS] air time!!!

Has anyone heard of a show called "Tokyo Pig" I really dont know if it's even still on the air but it was a funny messed up show about a boy who had a pet pig and when he rubbed this pigs snout it ended up having supernatural powers.

I think it was a kids show but it was messed up.

I'm not totally sure if anyone has posted this anime yet. It's called Beat to Death Angel Dokuro-chan. (Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan). This anime is extremely hilarious (if you like senseless violence, sex humor, and toilet humor). If you guys haven't seen it you should really check it out.

Ok I've got 4 words for you all!

Full. Metal. Panic. FUMOFFU!

This anime if pretty freakin' hilarious, I mean I've just seen the first episode and it had explosions like an action show, but funnier.

Of course I feel it should air after its previous series: Full Metal Panic (more of a mix of  action/comedy).

Kodomo no Omocha

Though only eleven, Kurata Sana has quite a hectic life, between school, her career as an actress, and most of all, dealing with Hayama Akito. Kodocha has a colorful cast of characters, from Sana's agent/"pimp" Rei, to her eccentric mother, to the magical white bat Babbit. Its multiple layers of drama and off the wall, crazed, in your face humor make it a series like no other.

Fruits Basket (meh, probably won't happen)

Azumanga Daioh (unfortunately, licensed by the Anime Network...)

Excel Saga (^ ditto)

Rumic's Theater

Rumic's Theater is a collection of 13 stories by Rumiko Takahashi, who is also responsible for such things as Inuyasha, Kimagure Orange Road, and Mermaid's Forest. While each story has its own tone, the focus tends to be based upon marriage, death, apartments, or general quirky situations and experiences. Sarcasm and mixups abound in this entertaining series.

Might I suggest some azumanga daioh. I would reccomend Revolutionary girl Utena, but the show runs on a more solemn note on the last four episodes. Both shows are really random. My personal suggestion.

Voices

Reply to R.I.P.rigor_mortis - Message ID#: 16032163

I started reading Inu Yasha sometime in middle school, only to later run out of money for (monthly releases of) comic books. So, wanting desperately to finish a story that I had invested a few years in, I happily watched the fan subs that an MIT friend procured for me. They cut off around episode 50 or so, leading me to turn to adult swim for my Inu Yasha fix. I found the voices grating. Granted, they weren't spectacular in the Japanese release either, but I digress. Since Adult Swim is for adults, I would like to suggest that Anime/Import cartoons be released with subtitles. This would allow Adult Swim to better/more effectively use its anime budget (Subs are cheaper to produce than dubs)and perhaps import some recent or cutting edge shows (You could buy direct and distribute instead of waiting to buy a show off of a US/Canadian company). While most of the dubs on AS aren't terrible (We're not talking Robotech or anything), I know I generally prefer Japanese with English subtitles over dubs. If anyone else is similarly inclined, I urge you to speak up.

I agree wholly. Why doesn't cartoon network just cut on it's budget and include a list of newly imported animes; I don't cared if it was subbed, that's how I got attached to haru in FLCl, her japanese voice was a little better than it was subbed, although I know they tried to stick with the original sound and feel of it. Excel was a bit more understandable subbed because I could read faster than I could hear her words. Which is why I got easily bored in the first place whe I heard it dubbed. Altogether, just leave the japanese to their own shows, it's better that way.

heh, my favorite chara is miroku, (mmm trowa sounds so sexy as him)
