BTW DA, anime in America could disappear all-together at the rate we're going.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-04-15/america-2009-anim
e-market-pegged-at-us$2.741-billion

Want to know one big factor for the decrease in sales? Piracy, fans moving onto soley piracy, and new fans not buying. Though there's also other things like the stuff getting cheaper being one of them.

We know.:smileyindifferent:Jeez, learn to figure out I was mainly yelling at the people who practically laugh at those who buy anime, watch legal streams, download legally, etc. I was stating you can blame the people who have the money, but never buy (Even if they were paid to do it.) for the situation we have now.

Those people who have the money aren't buying the DVD's, and that's one reason why less dubs are being made. The companies don't have the money to waste on a dub people will just steal from them.

It costs a lot of money to license a show just to release it here. It costs even more money to dub it. If there's no network interested in airing the show then they might not bother with a dub because it's much cheaper to release a show without paying to produce a dub or including more than one audio track on the DVD / Blu-Ray.

It's a pain in the ass to watch subs. But that's just IMO.

It's a bigger pain in the ass for anime distributor to pay to produce a dub.

This is the difference of a minor inconvenience for fans who prefer dubs vs thousands of dollars on top of the thousands of dollars spent on licensing the show in the first place. They've got to make a profit on these things at some point and that means they have to sell a whole lot to pay for a dub and unfortunately not evey show will make enough money to profit enough to off-set the cost of dubbing it.

You're asking them to spend several thousand dollars on this stuff when you're not going to give them a dime for it.

You should be much gladder about the fact that all that subbed anime is around legally for free. It's certainly better than nothing.

Are you saying anime will eventually no longer be dubbed? Because that's even more BS and if that happens I swear to god I'd rather stop watching anime period then watch anime subbed in a language I don't understand.

You watch some shows subbed already so I don't see why it's so unberable for you to watch more anime with subtitles.

Plenty of shows will still get dubbed. At least as long as FUNimation and Viz Media are in business and Sentai is actually dubbing most of what they pick up lately from what I've seen.

no

I haven't bought any in the last year

I have well over $500 that could go to anime but with the Economy as it is why should I pay top $$$ on anime when I could get a new Flat screen with surround sound speakers?

To DA:

you may think you're too poor to buy anime but get a job thats what I've been doing for the last year

I could go to the White and ask for a bill that Bans anime from the State's which I'm pretty sure no one wants

but seriously think about the Econmy and not you're eyes

Depends on if you already have many TV's. My family has no use for another TV. There's one in EVERY room (Except the wreck room that has 2.), even the bathrooms. I'm finding the 3 digit $ thing being best towards going to a new TV not to be a good example. You can definitely have too many TV's, and it would be a waste to buy a new one every few years.

They're in the process of dubbing Madoka I believe and I don't suspect it will be their last dub either.

That said, Aniplex doens't have to dub anything. They can get decent sales from sub-only releases and even special edition imports and never have to pay those extra costs to produce a dub for some titles and in turn work up some funding for when they feel inclined to dub another show.

A lot of famous people like Miyazaki films, Akira and other big name titles but I had no idea so many liked Lupin the 3rd, Bleach and Gundam.

Hulk Hogan and Andrew W. K. like One Piece XD

And now I'm imagining Toby Maguire heading up a Detective Conan movie,  Robin Wiliams as Zenigata in a Lupin the 3rd movie, Andrew W. K. in a Gurren Lagann movie, Leonardo DeCaprio in a Code Geass movie, Masi Oka as Master Keaton, Zac Efron and Daniel Radcliffe in an Initial D movie and several other unexpected possiblities.

Aniplex's US branch didn't actually license the show? Well that would explain why we're just getting the imported box set so far.

There's no reason why it will either.

So hopefully FUNimation obtains the rights and makes a dub but if they don't and however has the rights doesn't pay to produce a dub, it's not going to be the end of the world.

The earth will still be spinning, and you'll still be able to watch Fate/Zero legally on Crunchyroll after the box set sells out.
