Please read before posting: Things not to suggest!

[ Edited ]
Before posting a new Show Suggestion thread, please search for one that already exists for the show in question by using the search function.  Duplicate threads risk being closed.

Original Show ideas:
If you have an original show that you have created or written, sorry, but you're out of luck.  AS doesn't accept unsolicited ideas for new shows over the internet.  Any threads along these lines will be closed.

You can, however, suggest new shows that are spin offs of another show, or shows that involve certain characters, shows that parody other Hanna Barbera cartoons (like Space Ghost, Harvey, and Sealab), etc.

I'm going to leave this post and list here because it can still serve a useful and helpful purpose.  If you want to suggest a new collaboartion between Adult Swim and the creator of one of your favorite shows, you may use this list as a reference.

3 South: Ron Hughart & Mark Hentemenn

Action League Now!: Tim Hill

the Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius:  John A Davis

Aeon Flux:  Peter Chung (also designed Reign the Conqueror)

Angry Beavers:  Michael Gerard

Beavis & Butt-Head:  Mike Judge (also created King of the Hill)

Bob and Margaret: David Fine, Alison Snowden

Brothers Grunt: Danny Antonucci (also created Ed, Edd & Eddy for Cartoon Network)

Celebrity Deathmatch: Eric Fogel (also created "the Head")

Clerks: Kevin Smith

Clone High : Phil Lord & Chris Miller

the Critic: No real set creative team, starred Jon Lovitz.

Daria: Mike Judge spinoff series written/directed by various people

Dilbert: Scott Adams (based on his comic strip, series had various writers & directors)

Dr Katz Professional Therapist: Jonathan Katz & Tom Snyder

Duckman:  Various writers and directors.

Fairly Oddparents: Butch Hartman

the Head: Eric Fogel (Also created Celebrity Deathmatch)

Invader Zim: Johnen Vasquez (also created the comix; Squee, and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac)

the Maxx: Sam Kieth (based on his comic)

da Mob (MTV): Phillipe Balmo

the Ren & Stimpy Show: John Kricfalusi (Also created 'the Ripping Friends' for Fox [later picked up by Adult Swim), and a couple of parody Yogi Bear shorts for Adult Swim)

Rocko's Modern Life: Joe Murray

the Sifl & Olly Show:  Matt Crocco & Liam Lynch

South Park: Trey Parker & Matt Stone

Spider Man the Animated Series (MTV): Marvel Comics (various directors/writers/producers)

Spongebob Squarepants: Stephen Hillenberg

Super Adventure Team (MTV/Marionettes): William Bison

the Tick: Ben Edlund (also created a short-lived live action version of the Tick for Fox)

Undergrads: Pete Williams, Jerry Popowich

Yakkity Yak: Mark Gravas

There are also shows that CN actually has the rights to, but aren't age appropriate for Adult Swim, again, it is asked that you DO NOT recommend these shows, but rather, perhaps new shows designed by their creators for an adult demographic instead:

Codename: Kids Next Door: Mr Warburton

Cow & Chicken: David Feiss

Dexter's Laboratory: Genndy Tartakovsky

Ed, Edd & Eddy:  Danny Antonucci

Grim & Evil: Maxwell Atoms

Powerpuff Girls: Craig McCraken

Samurai Jack: Genndy Tartakovsky

Sheep In the Big City: Mo Willems

Time Squad: David Wasson

There are a handful of animated comedy shows floating around out there. These are the kinds of shows that AS might be more able to get ahold of (but aren't necessarily going after, these are just examples):

Committed (Canada): Michael Fry & Matthew Salsberg (Starring Dave Foley, Catherine O'Hara, Eguene Levy, & Andrea Martin) / 13 Episodes.

Free For All (Showtime): Merriwhether Williams / 7 Episodes

Funky Cops (Fox): In development

God, the Devil & Bob (NBC): various writers/directors starring Alan Cumm1ng, James Garner, Laurie Metcalf and French Stewart) 13 episodes (only 2 aired)

Kevin Spencer (Canada): Dave Bigelow, 50 "10-11 minute" episodes

King of the Hill (Fox): When it wraps up I'm sure AS would like to get it's hands on it.

PJs (Fox/WB): 41 episodes.

Sammy (NBC): starred David Spade, Bob Odenkirk, Maura Tierney, Andy d1ck, Jeffrey Tambor, Julia Sweeney and Harland Williams. was cancelled after 2 episodes aired.

the Simpsons (Fox): I think AS wants to get it's hands on this sooner or later.

Spicy City (Ralph Bakshi): 6 episodes

Stressed Eric (BBC): 13 episodes

cleaning it up - throwing everything into one thread for this folder.

Also opening this up for posts.

Try to keep it to posting ideas and suggestions about the Adult Swim Comedy Show Suggestions folder, this particular thread, and the comedy line-up.

try to refrain from chatting too much.

Feel free to post other things that I can add to the second post (the show list) if you have any information along those lines, or corrections to the list, or anything of that nature.

Who is Doctor Katz owned by?  And it's hard to believe that the Maxx would still be owned by mtv?

You can find the episodes of it on amazon and ebay, and if you're lucky they might be cheap. They are usually pretty expensive though. By the way Luuv, I'm glad someone else likes Ripping Friends besides me. Oh, and The PJ's were awesome! Hopefully [as] does get it.

yeah, that's kind of sad.  I think a lot of those old shows that Viacom owns will basically just never see the light of day again.

People hate the Ripping Friends, but to me it's just - funny.  It's stupid fun.  It has kind of a 50s style innocence and naiveness to it that I think is really funny combined with the super-hero stuff.  And the violence is funny too.  Plus it's got that Ren & Stimpy random edge to it.  I just like it a lot.

Yes, children, these guns were designed to kill people. What do we think of that? That's right, we are sickened by it. Except, of course, the guns are kind of cool.

I don't want to seem like some one who doesnt read the obvious "read before poast". In the Joe Murray section it might have looked like I said get Rockos Modern Life or SpongeBob Square pants, which is not what I ment, I ment the creator and/ or writers should make a show for AS. Blablabla

And I think we all know what happens when old shows are renewed for adults, Ren and stimpy adult party cartoon started out so terribly that I think most fans veered away because all the comedy was missing, it took about 2 or 3 episodes to pick up and make the humor good, and by then people had given up I think...
