hey dude, I'm actually the squidbillies helper so, I already feel a deeper bond with you than most.

anyways, my question for you is this: What do you consider classic metal? I noticed you mentioned that earlier, just wondering what that means to you, exactly, hopefully not too much hair metal

Yeah I remember you posting in the episode threads before your Rise to Power, thanks for supporting the show!

I was definitely steeped in hair metal growing up (loved Winger, Bulletboys et al) and that stuff still holds a special place in my heart, although I feel like I should be delivering papers on my GT Dyno when I listen to it today. I suppose "classic" would be like Iron Maiden, Fates Warning, certainly Black Sabbath... although check out modern band Icarus Witch, they're from my hometown of Pittsburgh and they are on some warlocks and swords type ish, they're great.

What percentage of your time working on squidbillies is spent laughing your ass off? Because I have often thought that squidbillies has probably the best voice acting in all of television, so it must be difficult sorting through all the recordings right? Anything super-funny ever happen during a recording session?

I have to listen to the show on such a microcosmic level, the same lines over and over again when I'm getting the mix together. So I often turn off the part of my brain that would respond to the humor. However there's always a few lines a show that are delivered so pitch-perfect that they'll still get ya

It takes a surprisingly long time to make a cartoon that is supposed to feel haphazard and barely thought out. For a while the sound alone was taking me 100 hours an episode-- that's about 10 hours for every minute of animation-- but they've managed to whip me down to about 80 this season. With no decrease in quality! We pass the savings on to you, the wine-drunk viewer!
