I think anybody who says the show is "complete crap" or whatever, clearly have not given it a chance.


And then I think a few others who've tried, just don't like the violence or can't keep up with the dialouge.


But yeah, honestly, this show is the MOST jam packed hilarity ride on AS, or, on TV for that matter.

I feel like KOTH went through a similar phase. People were so angry that it wasn't Beavis and Butthead, until they started watching a realized it didn't **beast**.

Yeah I remember when it first came out. I was an off and on Adult Swim viewer because I have trouble staying up late usually...especially back then cuz I had a real job. Anyway, my friend Ryan who loves Adult Swim was being a jerk about it. The show before had ended and Squidbillies came on. I was cracking up and he was like: "This **beast**". He changed the channel and I couldn't believe it. Two years later he said he had a change of heart. D-BAG!

People need to give strange TV shows a chance!!

I don't watch Jersey Shore. I don't watch this show. I just think it's stupid. There are some okay episodes, but overall, it's just kind of crappy. It's built on an old format, which, seven years later, is STILL OLD.

Squidbillies is neither funny nor entertaining. 

I really don't care if a person gets high, but if you have to be stoned for the show to be funny, it's just not funny.  It's poorly written.

Where's the part where you talk about why it's poorly written? And WHY is it only funny if you're stoned? People constantly throw that around like it means nothing.

I think it's just a cop out. Unless this guy is watching an episode, taking notes, then smoking something, then watching same said episode, and taking notes.

I mean in the spirit of science, I'll read his "lab report" and try to "recreate the experiment" if we need to "check the results".

Now hopefully people can see the humor in THAT, stoned or not.

btw, what's in a name? SamsonsKnife, what are you gonna do,....stab me?? I'd rather be a stoner than a violent criminal.

I gave the show a chance, like I did Delocated, and im glad for both!!! Squidbillies is funny, Southern-like humor. I find it endearing!!! And although ive smoked my share of pot, I assure you I wasnt stoned when I watched it!!

This is one of my favorite cartoons on Adult Swim.  I'm giggling up a storm even when I'm watching an episode I've already seen.    When I first watched it, I wasn't so sure about it because the art's so...off...but when I actually got past that, I realized how hilarious it was.  And I've NEVER watched this show stoned, and it still makes me laugh.

The show is for people with a sense of humor! Glad you got past the art style! I actually think it's quant.

I get slightly peeved when people say they say [as] shows are for stoners .clearly they don't actually understand the humour & just need an excuse for either liking or disliking them. it's ridiculous that some people need to be inebriated to enjoy absurdist/surreal/anti-humour.I think the obnoxious 420 stoners who advertise their use at every chance are some of the worst people ever. I would never want to be associated with that demographic.

anyway, squidbillies vol. 1 is great. vol. 2 starts off good but then starts to drag towards the middle. it just seems like it consists entirely of early shooting people with arbitrary (not that funny) events & a vague storyline interspersed throughout. it really seems to rely a bit too much on violence as opposed to actual jokes like in the first volume. don't know if I'd ever get vol. 3. do people think it's good? I love the art style though. coalesces very well with the style of humour.

worst people ever? Worse than corrupt cops and politicians and murders etc?

I don't see why people hate stoners so much. But, I'm not really a loud and proud one. I am kinda scared of society because of all the vitrioul towards such peaceful people like myself.

vol 3 is good, and worth the value if you find it real cheap. It's like a single disc DVD but still, really funny eps./
