Hey guys, I wanted to make a new thread for this but apparently new people that join can't make one until meeting some kind of criteria.
Yes this is a copy(move) of my other post into this new thread, for those who had already seen this.

First off there seems to be a new even better Quality big-O figure on the way.

I wasn't sure at first I thought it was just a crazy priced rerelease but from what i can tell it doesn't seem to be the Soul of Chogokin one. the paint on it looks different,
plus some sites have the chogokin one (sold out) still listed as well, and the different name of course.

Now I know most of you don't have the money or intention to buy that but that's not the only news I bring.
I've been a collector of FIGMAs for about 2 years now (I own about 80% of em) it's a series of very accurately detailed and poseable anime action figures. Usually they release stuff from more recent animes (from japan, of course such as Bakemonogatari or Nanoha Strikers) but every once in a while they surprise me with some nice retro goodies such as Lum or Kagome or the JPWA characters.

ANYWAYS, these generally go for about 2400 yen (about $ 28 USD) and starting around yesterday was the Wonder Festival in japan, where they show all the new figures that they're working on for the year, and they showed this in the lineup of 2011 FIGMAs :

For anyone interested, Big Duo is up for pre-order on various japan-based websites.

Here's a few that I usually use:

Not sure when / if North american sites such as BigBadtoystore will have him up but if you miss preorder on japanese sites you can wait for the US ones to have it up.
My guess however is that due to the low amount of Big-O merchandise fans there's probably not much risk of it becoming sold out anytime soon.

Figma Dorothy is up for pre-orders!!

if anyone wants to get one, I highly recommend preordering because they can sometimes sell out fast and quickly end up at double the price on eBay (plus eBay sellers often charge more for shipping)

You can shop around see which website has the best prices, but my preference is hobby-search. Their preordering system is fast and you can easily manage and edit all your preorders under the user menu. Not that the other ones are bad, it's just the one I like the most after trying many.

Use EMS if you want it to be shipped fast w/ tracking number, use SAL if you don't mind 2-3 weeks to ship with no tracking for half the shipping price.

looks like she comes with a broom and Pero. Guess i'll have to find a 1/12 scale grand piano somewhere..!

oh and don't take the release date of June on those sites too seriously, characters such as Dorothy are not as popular and if there's any delays (there usually are, especially now with the whole earthquake business) those characters are pushed back first. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up released early september. As long as the release date doesn't change to "never" I'm happy.

I think I might actually get into collecting figures for The Big O just from looking at that.

About time. We have been messed around with these figures from Max. for a good number of years now. Only now do we finaly get them. Finaly! And it seems that Max Factory is going to take on Bandai's Chogokin Big-O from last year with both figures being made of mettalic elements. Nice to see Big Duo (who has been made into a figure by Bandai in a 7" vinyl form and a 3" coin figure) and Big Fau FINALLLLLLYYY!!!! being made as such.

Just a thing thoguh - why now? Why this sudden clump of merchandise in less than a year?  Is there something going on, other than Max Factory/Bandai wanting $$$?

Heh, just noticed these myself, yet another fancy expensive Big O figure is coming, and this one seems even more insanely detailed.. I'll just have to settle for my Bandai model kit though, which didn't include a cool figure of the Griffon. Roger yes, but not his ride.

Unfortunately Figma Roger will not be up for pre-order on many websites since it seems he was will be an exclusive from the summer Wonder Festival event ! A few more will be made in November only available through the company's online shop (which only ships to Japan) and the amount they make will be based on the number of pre-orders they receive. The only way to get one is by using a middle man which pretty much doubles his price but being an exclusive the price will quadruple on auction sites.

I Pre-ordered mine from Tokyo Hunter
(they have only 10 8 left !)

I've never received anything from them (yet) but I hear it's the best place to get exclusives.

ALSO: Dorothy is now IN STOCK (and mostly sold out already) Looks like a bunch of places still have some in stock!
