Big O Season 3
It is time to give power to the viewers, and take it away from the TV Conglomerates. After all they are catering to what YOU want to watch right? Why should they be able to control what you want, by taking away your shows, and filling the space with something else! TV is about watching TV you enjoy, its entertainment, and it is meant to ENTERTAIN you! Not someone else! It time for us to tell the studios, and broadcasters what we want, and its time to get what we WANT.
Yet we live in an unfair world, where "From the start, words were more important than pictures." ---Mike Lazzo. Then why was radio replaced by television? Would you rather read a comic book with bad artistry, or would you want to read one with a good artistry? So let us paint a picture that is worth a thousand words, let us show that the ANIME community will not sit buy as their shows are replaced by fart jokes, stupid one-liners, and terrible animation. Let us show that we will not settle for Space Ghost, or Brak, when we could be watching more of what we love, anime.
When Mike Lazzo, Cartoon Network's senior vice president stated that, "We knew adults really didn't care about the quality of animation. With children, if you had something brightly colored and moving, you could make it go. But with adults, they become bored pretty quickly with the dancing brooms unless it's exceedingly well done. From the start, words were more important than pictures." It was a slap in the face to all anime fans, especially adults. HE says that adults, ALL adults don't care about the quality of their animation; they don't care about the differences between the animation of South Park, to the animation of Cowboy Bebop. Can you imagine a 2d episode of Bebop? What about a Claymation edition of Trigun? Yes that's right YOU don't care about you animation, you would much rather watch South Park than your favorite anime right?
I personally am also tired of the non announcements, the show cut offs that have no explanation, the altering of our shows for a more general American audience, I'm tired of influences coming form where they don't belong, Cartoon Network shouldn't be influencing anime, if anyone WE should be influencing anime! If Cartoon Network wants me to watch their channel then they should air what I want to watch, and they did at one time, during a block called Adult Swim. They once had anime, good anime during the block. Yet they have given way to comedy, at first it was okay... But then as I continued to watch and the shows got increasingly stupid, I became frustrated. Why should I have to watch Space Ghost, when I could be watching a better anime? Why because adults don't care about the quality of animation, so I much enjoy stupid interviews right! Wrong, what really sent me off was the termination of one of the shows they influenced. A show called Big O.
As you may, or may not know, a show called The Big O (TBO) had been airing on Adult Swim (AS). What you really need to know is that this fantastic show was altered to make way for a season 3, which both Sunrise, and CN could benefit from, but then later, for unknown reasons, the show was opted out on for a season 3. Yet another time when a large corporation influenced anime for the negative.
When TBO was first created it was decided it would only be 26 episodes in length, and be contained in a single season, which is popular among many Animes. Yet the show didn't do so well in Japan, so it was cut off at 13 episodes, and left with a cliffhanger ending. It was later to be picked up by CN, and broadcasted in the US, where it was much more successful. The Creators still having a solid 13 more episodes told fans of the series to start petitioning for the second season of TBO. The fans were heard and TBO II was bought, and co-produced by CN. TBO II "does much better than expected in the US, and AS had it altered so it could be expanded for another 26 episodes.
This means that episode 26 is not the END, it was a season finale, the producers had the ending changed so that it would be possible to continue on with 26 more episodes. Which the creators had a few ideas for. So when people say that we've seen the end of TBO, they are wrong because the ending was altered to make 26 more episodes possible. The fact that MANY of the series plot lines were not tied up also proves this point.
From here on we don't know what really happened. Both SUNRISE, and AS have yet to make an official comment on TBO. We know that some of the creators are interested in continuing the series, and that TBO is backed by good ratings, despite the fact that it was aired at the same time as many popular programs, including Leno.
I know you have heard the crazed ranting, and cries of upset fans. I know that these are met with harsh criticism, or ignored. You yourself might be angered by the fact that Big O fans are complaining about their show getting cancelled, but that's NOT what we are doing. We are beginning the fight to give Anime back to the viewers. By supporting the TBO Season 3 you support not only Japanese Anime, you support the viewer's control of what anime should and will be. Yet if you fighting, bickering, and arguing against this campaign will only destroy what we all really want, more Anime.
So don't allow Japanese Anime to be bullied by CN, and other networks, because we don't want anime that pleases suites, we want anime that pleases US!

I'm putting this here just in case they delete that thread.
I've been to the surface and nothing is there.
