Would getting season 1 back be worth it?

So as well all know, [adult swim] lost season 1, and the only reason why they still have season 2 is because since they co-produced it, they pretty much own it forever.

I'd say it's worth getting back as seeing just one season getting replayed over and over and over and over again gets tiring. Plus many probably have seen only season 2 (Like me.) because they don't play season 1 anymore.

Well, I've seen season 1. Due to my friend somehow having it on DVD, but I barely remember season 1. I mean, I like season 2, but all the episodes, I have seen before.

Oh heck yes!!  If I weren't such a cheap bass-turd, I'd buy the set, but alas, I am frugal.  (Still have my three+ year old SDTV 20" CRT television).

I don't find seeing S.2 again boring.  So much to see in the series.

Danger Will Robinson, Danger ... Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen S.1.

Spoiler

Eps. 1-2 - Meet R. Dorothy's sister ... the one that shops in the "plus size" section, and Beck :smileytongue:  Get to experience the voice actor getting familiar with Big-O :smileyhappy:

Ep. 3 -Yes Virginia, there is somebody outside of Paradigm City, apparently people forgot about these folks :smileytongue:  Provides the source of material for the three-headed hydra of S. 2.

Ep. 4 - And you thought NYC's current subways were bad, Roger's flash back to "childhood", a prototype/archetype megadeus ... plus plot-armour in action :smileyhappy:

Ep. 5 - Good cop gone rogue, odd looking megadeus firing what in Star Trek terms would be plasma torpedoes with paper thin armour

Ep. 6 - Good android gone bad under evil bass-turd's suggestive influence, inflicts serious damage on self.  Apparently the answers are not "blowing in the wind" ...

Ep. 7 - That sure don't look like posiedon.  Not sure how the water stayed out of all those buildings...  Also wonder how all those apparently exposed circuits on the megadeus survived the bath.  Don't go poking in places you don't understand :smileyhappy:

Ep. 8- Here kitty-kitty.  We're all screwed if dog/cat theives resort to that kind of firepower :smileytongue:  One word ... chimera.

Ep. 9 - Mr. Beck is back, with a big yellow megadeus... how he funded it... no clue.  Just a theory of mine, but maybe funding came from Paradigm Corp?  Though it features what appear to be shoulder mount rotary missle launchers, akin to Big Duo .. something Paraslime apparently could not replicate when it made Big Duo Inferno.  Anyway... the mecha **beast**, big time.

Ep. 10 -  Booom chakka-lakka.  If you're going to use the same vehicle for transport everytime... why choose something conspicuous??  Guess it boils down to the cyclical nature of things.  The good Dastun (not by Nissan) realizes... holy expletiving expletive... I know that gal, I've been there before, I'm the guy in the movie... First real introduction to the mind bending parts of Big-O.  While the megadeus looks like a giant toy robot, the name is great, and references deities of vengence, also known as furies :smileyhappy:

Ep. 11 - Daemonseed ... Now... that's a Christmas tree.  Even the head of Paraslime recognizes Christmas.  I do wonder, what happened to that *GIANT* tree.  Never see it again that I can remember.

Ep. 12 - Yes, Virginia, we're in NYC.  "Black Forest" returns, and boy is he pissed.  Now, why are there the remains of what's obviously a nuclear sub, I think it's an Ohio Class but not 100% sure, sitting at the ruins of JFK Airport in the vicinity of what's left of a Boeing 747?  Also, why oh why did Schwarzy descend from the sky to gloat?  Who or what was Big Duo crawling back toward?  Moving in the general direction of Paraslime, but IIRC both Alex and "Angel" were in the dome.

Ep. 13 - Meet Dorothy's other -- other sister.  Alternatively, it's another, defective??, copy of a R. Dorothy from a previous existence (see final episode).  What ever happens to the disc from Red Destiny?  Also explains how Roger comes to be facing three megadei in the water.

Keeping a perfectly-fine TV is one thing, but not plopping down $25 for a DVD set? That's like a couple Big Mac meals. :smileytongue:

Been a long time since I've seen S.1, but I've got a mind like a steel trap... I know, I've caught myself in it a few times.  Had to reference a listing of episode titles to get them in the right order (for example had Ep. 5 and Ep. 6 reversed), but still remember what happened in S.1.

I probably should buy both seasons before they vanish from the market.  That would also entail buying the appropriate player too :smileytongue:

Now, if I could just find the Big-O soundtracks at a reasonable price.  Not sure why JVC (I think it's the company that did the release), just doesn't release them in MP3 format.  I'm way more of an audio person than a video person.  There is no anime I've found, including Cowboy Bebop, that has a better sound track than Big-O.

The soundtrack is like a microcosm of my music collection (which is nearly exclusively classical).  It goes from loud-angry music to music that's full of tortured angst and pathos, it even has music which seems to come from the depths of despair.  Not quite Barber's Adagio, but still lonely and utterly sad music at times.

My friend bought Season 2 for me this Christmas. So now I don't have to watch all of Adult Swim's re-runs. And she bought the Cowboy Bebop movie. :smileyvery-happy:

Nice friend.  Trust me... get S1.  S2 makes much more sense with S1.

Ah... I haven't bought either yet.  Probably should before it vanishes.

I'm cheap though.
