According to John Witherspoon and Andrea Romano, their will be a fourth season. Aaron McGruder hasn't officialy confirmed anything. In a January interview, McGruder avoided answering questions of a fourth season of The Boondocks and/or a theatrical release.

Someone on the A.S boards said that A.S's twitter said it was releasing the summer of 2012, but i'm not sure.

I feel so bad for anyone who's been in anticipation about season 4 for over a year now. I only heard about it last month...But just as big a boondocks fan as anyone else though.

I just wish Aaron would be more "open" about it, as in more behind the scenes, or just vlogs on their youtube channel. They haven't uploaded anything onto their channel in 3 years!

I know right? Aaron does not even have a twitter anymore, a lot of the main cast don't use their twitters anymore, the only other person we could follow is Cedric Yarbrough (voice of Tom) but he seldom mentions the Boondocks. He mentioned it last week, but not anything about it returning this year....and he doesn't seem to acknowledge anyone who tweets him about the upcoming episodes....It' all seems so discrete, I'm beginning to think it's intentional..oh well :/

Its a process...we have to wait. A 20 episode season is going to take much longer than the 15 eps we normally get from The Boondocks production team. I dont think it fair to compare The Boondocks to the production of other cartoons, because there is a lot more involved in the pre production. Im sure we will get the season this year for 2013, but we still do not even have a trailer yet.

True, the the long turnaround is for a legitimate reason. I just wish we could get more updates about how far along things are. I remember before season three dropped, screenshots were coming out six months before the season debuted. Episode titles and quotes from future episodes too. They didn't spoil anything, it only made me anticipate the new season even more.

Yeah, true, I don't wan't anything to look rushed...

BUT sometimes I wish they would have made new episodes WHILE the previous season was airing....so season 4 would have been ready to go in a few short months...unless they were waiting for inspiration from the actual world. And they probably were..

But we're just lucky Aaron's even continuing the show

Yes I agree. Im happy the brand and series is still relevant and we have had The Boondocks since 1999, I can remember seeing it in the back of the Source Magazine during the Dave Mays and Benzino years. Here we are 14 years later and the interest is still high, if not higher. From the art, to the voice acting, to the background melodies and beats, its a high quality process. We do have 45 Episodes and 3 comic collections to hold us down though lol.
