They got it from Tony Millionaire. He makes comics. He's a funny dude.

Maybe he is a funny dude, but the show still stinks. If it were a comic to begin with, then they probably butchered the whole idea when turning it into a show.

Tony Millionaire made the show, so even though it is kind of different from Maakies, it was intentional. And the humor style is actually pretty similar to that of Maakies, it's just adapted so that it works better as a cartoon rather than a comic.
