Anyone else really tired of shows this weird?

I mean, this show has its moments, don't get me wrong, but I'm tired of shows that are jusrt weird. The only time they're seriously funny is when it's ridiculously late at night and you're sleep deprived, which is fine, but a show should be able to survive on its own regardless of what time it comes on (to a certain extent)

I really enjoy this show, but you're right, it's not THAT funny. There are funny moments. I find myself enjoying it for the intrigue and bizarre events more than the comedy aspect, much the way I enjoyed 12 Oz. Mouse.

So, no, I'm not tired of it. I don't think a show has to be hilarious to be engaging. "Weird" has been an integral part of Adult Swim's programming since the beginning (ATHF, anyone?), and I don't figure they'll be going away from it anytime soon, especially as long as PFFR is doing Adult Swim shows.

I eagerly welcome weird stuff to break the tedium of normal stuff.

Because of my work schedule, I had to tape The Heart, She Holler and watch it while I had breakfast in the morning. If a show is funny at 6:45 a.m., then it is funny.

Do you enjoy it, Majik?

I did. It was the perfect balance of random and logical, smart and stupid, outlandish and traditional. Even if it only nodded at conventions in order to flout them, it still understood them enough to stay internally consistent.

I'm sure this will be another one of those shows where folks will sign up to the boards just to tell us how only stoners would watch this piece of crap, while actually, you have to keep your brain turned on to fully enjoy this show.

I hope this show gets a full 20 episodes to run its course. It really does take me back to the days of 12 Oz. Mouse. Though, 12 Oz. Mouse kind of spit in the face of conventions rather than nodded at them.

No.

I am tired of people complaining about shows for inane reasons though. Oh, this show is weird. This one doesn't make sense (unless you're on drugs). This doesn't look like it was scrawled by a crazy person eating his own poop with crayons for chopsticks (seriously, fuuuuuudge superjail fans).

Does the show:

Suffer from poor scripting/writing? No.

Suffer from sub-par/unfunny cast? No.

Suffer from objectivist claims by people that knew they weren't fans of this genre? Yes. Oh, **beast** **beast**, yes.

History is a nightmare from which I am trying awake.

I watched this show at a reasonable hour and found it hilarious. PFFR's writing is very similar to my own, what with the wordplay and sexy dames what ain't got no proper learnin'. I'm probably one of the few people here to own Final Flesh, much less have a signed copy.

NO.

Get an open mind, jeez. If you choose not to YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH IT. :smileywink:

No, I'm not tired of it. I think it's a refreshing change of pace. Plus it's only 6 episodes. It won't be on forever.

But it's ok if you don't like it. It's even ok for you to come here and tell everyone why you don't like it.

Keep up the good work!

I was tired of such bullsh!t, to put things polite when [as] first started to notice they had a market for this kind of show.

I know you had no intention of implying it, but the fact that the show requires cognitive thought doesn't mean pot turns that off. You don't have to have a turned on brain, you simply have to have one!

And those people who hate on "stoners" clearly don't have one.

I like the show... it can be weird for all I care, as long as the weirdness goes somewhere... and it usually does.  I'm jealous these people get to do this and get paid for it.

No. Especially when it's done right (like in this case). I do however hate it when they try too hard and come up with crap like Xavier and that soap opera show that I had no idea existed and still have no idea what it is or if it's even a show.

Am I tired of shows that are weird? Nope. It's AS's bread and butter, all the way back to Space Ghost. And even if they're not always funny, it's at least interesting to watch, which is more then I can say about the endless amount of crime proceduals plaguing network television for example.

Well this show's theme is overall pretty dark, and I don't know about you but, I like to hold someone's hand when I'm all a-scared and there ain't nobody better for handsholding than helpershandsholding hands.

This was going to be more childish and elaborate... but I just don't give a **beast**.

From here it looks like the only people keeping this folder alive, and by alive I mean like someone in a coma being alive through machines are the Helpers.

Doesn't bode well in my mind for how well liked this show is, the vast majority of the comedy folders are like this too I have noticed.

Actually, CH is fairly active, especially while the show is airing/premering.

Eagleheart & NTSF have less than 30 episodes between them, being that they both are on their first season, so not much discussion should be expected while the fans wait for a second season that is months away for either show.

Delocated hasn't aired a new episode in what 11 months?

Heart She is only 6 episodes?

Yeah, lots of subject matter to discuss, because (you know) comedy shows are so ripe for nitpicking critiques lasting hundereds of comments that flow (seemingly) endlessly from a plethora of diverse users from across the internets.

1. Comedy is saturated with Helpers, and they post here because they like this show.
2. Good thing networks don't make decisions based on how many people post on Internet forums.

I could say that, but I won't. It tweaks my hygrophobia.

Anyway, I'm sure Knight Star will be back to elaborate on his point he was trying to make. If Adult Swim cared how many Helpers post in a folder, all we'd ever see is Bleach.
