The funniest part is that this show isn't THAT funny to me. It has its moments, to be sure. It's more surreal/bizarre than funny. But who cares? It's a highly entertaining and gripping TV show. It's pretty clear that PFFR goes for strangeness first over laughs, which is okay by me. The strangeness lends itself to laughing.
This is yet another Adult Swim show that pushes you past your comfort level. It challenges the viewer to really watch and get beyond the basic look and feel of the show and concentrate on its delivery.
TH, SH is not going to spoon-feed you the jokes or the plot, though this show is probably more accessible than a show like
12 Oz. Mouse. Once again, Adult Swim proves that there is still art in television, as the most pioneering art is often initially misunderstood.
