This show is...

The bastard child of Videodrome.

Now the question is who is the mother?

Well if anything is for certain, it's these two things:

  1. Consent definitely was not given
  2. She knows what she has done

In all honesty, I would have to say that it is more than just two things that are this show's parents...

By all means, I think Videodrome is an influence, but there's more to it than that. I can see influences from:

1) as before, Squids

2) the formula for soap operas (specifically Dallas)

3) the camp of modern sci-fi shows/any show made in the mid-to-late 1960s.

If I were to say what it's parents were/how it was made: Videodrome sent an email to Dallas who at the time was jerking it to an episode of Squids, namely "The Good One", informing him of his invitation to the impending orgy Videodrome had planned with the Dukes of Hazard, Twilight Zone and some chick named Carrie (because you know while Daisy is hot, she ain't enough to save that sausage fest). The result wasn't aborted, but instead forced to live in between the walls of a mansion for thirty years before being truly brought into the world.

History is a nightmare from which I am trying awake.
