A Word From SwimBuddha

[ Edited ]

Welcome! Here's what's up. Our graphic designer, who goes by the name of Hockey Chicken on these boards, will be living underneath our webcam until 1,000,000 of you drop by to set him free. If you're here, you've probably already done your part. So thank you.

This is essentially a big experiment. We do not know how long it will take! But I'd like to share some numbers with you. To date, the most traffic AdultSwim.com has ever received in one month is 875,500 unique visits. That was in May. And that is the month-long total. What we have in mind is to see how quickly we can get 1,000,000 people through here starting right now.

I have a hunch that our fan base is more vested in Adult Swim than are the fans of any other property in television. I suppose, at heart, this is an attempt to prove that hunch. So we need your help.

Email your friends, family members and work associates and ask them to visit AdultSwim.com and free Hockey Chicken. They need not purchase anything or stay for any length of time. They just need to go and punch the Free Hockey Chicken button. Done!

We're just asking, "What if?" What if we made Hockey Chicken live underneath the webcam and then started beating the drums about it? A lot of it depends on you. We'll do our best to provide you with a timely, accurate count as the coming weeks progress. In the meantime, we hope you'll enter our sweepstakes and waddle over to the webcam for some very cool guests and bands.

Thank you for your support.

Free Hockey Chicken!

Thaks buddha, i'll try and bring a lot of traffic (i'm making a few [hundred :smileyvery-happy:] phonecalls once the event starts...). We must let hockey chicken be free... they are a rare species [animal activist unite! ^_^].

So...if I read correctly, we only need to click the link.  No need to make threads, right?  ...Oh, and who are the people that really want to know this?  The mods and admin?  Or the people up near the top?  I'm just curious.  By the way, this is a pretty cool gig you have going.

(edit) I'll get in touch with those people right away.  :smileywink:

I'm going to be very interested in how fast this site hits the million visit mark, so Hockey Chicken can go home to his hen and chicks.  I put up one of the first threads about this stunt last week (AS Million-Visit Webcam Stunt) but it got deleted in favor of the official threads.

I think the results may be surprising to everyone, and may be a record-setter.  The whole purpose here is to increase awareness of the AS website among the AS viewer base.  While this place has tens of thousands of members and has several hundred members online at any time 24/7, the site membership is apparently only a fraction of the 450,000 average daily viewers of AS.  The stunt will hopefully bring new members aboard, and encourage current members to check out all the content on AS.com.   (^_*)

Don't waste your time with the Hockey Chicken, because
I'm pretty sure that he has a Hockey **bleep**-a-do or was it a Rocky Roaster.
Please don't be rude, crude, or prude

I have a question.  Why did Flying Shark vs. Flying Crocodile get promoted for weeks, and this had absolutely no advertisement?

I think they didn't advertise this stunt in advance because they're testing the effectiveness of word-of-mouth at spreading the word about Adult Swim.   Hence, they didn't advertise ahead of time and deleted the threads that I and others posted last week about this stunt.   Now that it's launched, there will be ads for it, mainly to encourage existing fans to spread the word.

In announcing the stunt, Swimbuddha wrote:

"Email your friends, family members and work associates and ask them to visit AdultSwim.com and free Hockey Chicken ..."

Promotions prior to the start of the stunt would have rendered invalid any conclusions drawn from it.

The previous record for Website visits of 875,500 during the 31 days of May translates to an average of 28,242 daily visits. At that visit volume, it would take 35 days and 9.8 hours before Hockey Chicken can go home to his hen and chicks.   That would keep him at his desk until 6:48 p.m. on Monday Aug. 23.  We can do better than that.  (^_*)

What would i do with 2 metal mooninites?
I lost my leg like I lost my way
So no loose ends
Nothing to see me down
How are we going to work this out?

Dreams aren´t bad, I had turned back
I love the gun
But God only knows it´s
Getting hard to see the sun coming through
I love you...
But what are we going to do?

Picture on the dreamer
I´ll take you deeper
Down to the sleepy glow
Time is a low..
Don´t you know?
What are we going to do?

When you go back
All the second selfless days
You´re in love with him
I want to see you again
I love you...
But what are we going to do?
