Focus Group: Mighty Boosh

probably won't go anywhere necessarily, but going to start doing "focus group" side discussions for the programaramapalooza in the host folders.

I'm a fan of most AS shows anyway, but love Boosh.

It's probably the only show, or the only one that comes to mind, where I think it helped me get into the show that they showed the last season first, or showed the episodes out of order.

It hindered my reaction somewhat to Moral Orel and Frankenhole I think.  Just to name a few examples.

But with Boosh I think it hooked me faster.

Another show I think where each progressive season gets better and better.  The first season is still awesome.  But the Crack Fox episode and Eels and some of those, the shop episodes, really stand out for me.

Crack Fox especially.  That's a very well balanced and consistently funny/entertaining episode that still jumps around a lot.

I realize the show hasn't even been acquired in the game yet, but is it okay if I use it anyway?

Nevermind. I'm just gonna go with it anyway.

3. Metalocalypse/Aqua Teen Hunger Force

2. Outlaw Star/Cowboy Bebop

1. Doctor Who/the Venture Bros.

After seeing the list of shows [as] has aired, I realized I have only seen a small percentage. However, I find it incredibly difficult to absolutely hate any of the ones I have seen.

I have not seen The Mighty Boosh, but as the game progresses, my curiosity has been sparked to check out many of the shows I never even heard of. I noticed that The Mighty Boosh has 13 pages of video content on the [as] site. Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be some great clips to start off with?

Also, I think that a discussion thread in each folder is a great idea.

Yeah. I just decided to post that anyway. :smileyvery-happy:

Oh, yeah. Have you had a chance to check out that Wikipedia link I sent you? Seriously, I'm willing to put my IP status on the line just to get that show on [adult swim].

another idea for the game thread I keep forgetting to mention is, as the number of possibilities expands w/acquisitions etc, it's possible to expand the block as well (as it will next year as I recall, oozing further into primetime by grabbing the 9pm slot).

It's coneivable that as the game grows, it will eventually be a 24/7 schedule grid.

What do people think about allowing votes for schedule alterations?  Like voting for things like switching action night to a different night, expanding to 7am in the morning, or 9pm at night etc?

like people would be able to vote = +1 Mighty Boosh, +1 primetime expansion, which would mean expanding into the 9pm slot.  And maybe set the bar a little higher like 200 instead of 100.  But if/when a block expansion got 200 votes it would happen.

Same with expanding dayside.  People could vote like: -1 P Js, +1 daytime expansion, which would mean expanding into the 7am hour.

also we could add to that repeat blocks.

IE, people could vote if they wanted Sat to be 10pm-2am and then repeat that schedule from 2am-6am.

Or open it up too, like for example, people could vote to have different shows all night on Tuesday rather than having only different shows from 10pm-2am and the repeating.

So the votes would be like + 1 Gigantor, -1 repeating the monday block (ie, you want all different shows on Monday night rather than the block 10pm-2 and then repeating)

or +1 GITS, +1 for repeating the initial half of the Saturday block (ie, rather than all different shows, you'd like to see the 10pm-2am sat shows simply repeat from 2am-6am)

just some thoughts.  It would make the actual schedule structure open to change and make it more interesting.

Rather than just like - forever and ever as long as we play the game it'll always be Sat actn, Sun Comedy, Thu premiere repeats, Fri theme night etc.

By the way, I've got an idea for an anime series the BBC and [adult swim] could co-produce with a Japanese animation company regarding Doctor Who. The series would be about the Last Great Time War that is always alluded to in the current series. It could be a bridge from original to current. That is, if everything I want to happen happens and if [as] gets the current series as reruns.

Oh, well. A boy has the right to dream, right?

OH!! Thank you for the video selections!! Now, if I was not such a looser my internet was not so sluggish, i could actually see more than 5 seconds at a time!!

But it is funny! I think I remember those guys, but it was before i was giving any [as] live action comedy a chance. At first I thought i hated it all, but i realized that i just needed to give everything a fair chance.

After i started giving [as] live action comedy a fair chance, I started to really laugh. I decided that some things i have to watch a few times, but this is funny from the moment i saw it!! wait, does that mean I am strange??

Personally for me, it was after I'd watched the clip where they're dancing to Gary Numan's Cars that finally made me cave in and watch the show. Is it the funniest moment of the series? Not by a long shot. But I've got a soft spot for 80s music and car dancing scenes in shows and movies.

there are some real standout moments, but basically it's kind of at its best too in those moments when it's just cruising along being the Boosh.  Like the Cars thing.
