I saw the BBC office a few years ago, in my opinion it was horrible. But, maybe it's just not my kind of humor. It's just an opinion.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association probably doesn't like him too much, but that just makes him better in my eyes.

I HATE THIS SHOW(NOT TO BE A HATTER)

Yeah again not to be a hater but I completely hate the office from adult swim, and love the office from NBC. I don't know why but it seems that the office from NBC is dumb but has its funny moments while, the office from adult swim is so much more dumb and is not funny. Now I really don't want a lot of replies on how dumb it is for me to say that but that's just how I feel and you obligated to feel however way you want.

They've both had their moments. By and large, though, BBC Office's may not have been as forced, but it seemed like it often relied on either Ricky Gervais saying stupid, or the characters standing around for a moment while you have time to think, "I wouldn't want to be in their shoes for this uncomfortable moment!"

I've also never understood when people call it subtle. I recall giant wang props, and Brent grinning like an idiot and stating "[profanity]" as a punchline several times per episode.

I also just sort of hate the accents. I like many British accents I've heard, but there's no one in this show that isn't out to rape my ears. Could've contributed to why I didn't like any of the characters except for Brent and (sort of) the receptionist.

It's been a while since I've watched more than one or two episodes though, so I have no real idea why I'm posting. NBC's office probably should've ended ages ago, but it's still sort of mind numbing entertainment. But maybe that's what it's always been.

Animal crackers in my soup. Monkeys and rabbits loop de loop. Gosh, oh gee! Don't I have fun? Swallowing animals, one by one.

It's pretty quiet compared to most American sitcoms, part of which is due to the absence of a laugh-track, but that detail aside I think the acting on the BBC show tends to be more subdued than a lot of other comedies.  Characters don't scream at each other or engage in much over-the-top physical comedy.  The American version of this show features a lot of the latter, which I think is part of what distinguishes it from the original product.  I don't know if subtle is the best way to describe the British program, but it does have a different comedic styling than more traditional TV comedies.

We could just take your bias as an offset to a the contrary bias possibly lingering in the thread.  Not that I'm making any accusations.

I like the British version, too.
