The ending of Charity*SPOILERS*

I just found it so satifying that David Brent was forced to resign.

Just from my own experience with do-nothing managers.

Especially from my last job :smileymad:

hmm, now that I think about it more, I guess that is sort of a satisfying thing.

but it's not quite so black and white, David was fired by Neil, another do-nothing manager who just delegates all the work and is a total jerk.

I've experianced both kind of bosses, and I prefer working under the David Brent types.

With the Neil types you get jerkoffs who deride you for not tirelessly working and devoting your whole life to their **BLEEP**ty job, while they do nothing but sit around and be **BLEEP** holes

I would like it if you report back here after you see next weeks episode. Personally, every time I see it I cry. Actually, I don't know if I did the first time I saw it, but after re-watching the series several times, now I always do. Maybe I'm just a big baby, anyway, I would really like to hear your reaction to the next episode.
This is great...and all I've done is enter my name! Thrillhouse!

I actually felt bad for him, maybe because Neil is such a p.rick. This episode is one of my favorites though because it had so many good moments. Tim and Dawn had their first kiss, Gareth was hopping all over the place, Stephen Merchant as 'the ogg monster' lmao, Brent's "dance", the bit about figuring out if people are really disabled had me crying, and finally this was the episode I absolutely fell in love with Keith!!!

@Thrillo, if you're a baby then so am I , because that episode has me bawling too.... and the christmas special is tear jerker as well.

It was satisfying to me that Gareth didn't get there in time to have his picture taken with the others.

All this time I'd been thinking my second leg was dead weight and I'd fare just as well hopping around on one foot, but he proved me wrong in that.

I view Neil's attitude a bit differently.

He probably is a hard-**BLEEP** when it comes to getting tasks done on a timely matter.

But that is similar to my view on work:

I don't really want to be there, yet I'll get my work done on time and right the first time.

Palling around with somebody who gives me orders is pretty low on my priorities.

At its heart management is just the delegation of responsibility.

That's best done without any additional drama.

Though some pity was evoked, I'm still glad to see Brent get the boot.

Seeing that baseless egotism of his smashed was something else.

The finale was a tour-de-force none the less.

BTW, I'm floated in a prettied up board :smileyvery-happy:

I did feel bad for the guy, but he really, really had it coming.

The Dolly Parton comment was especially moving.
