Do we need a 4th year of The Room?

April Fool's jokes stop being funny when you MEMORIZE ALL THE LINES IN THEM.

As funny as The Room can be, it is overplayed.  It was never about the quality with most of the people decrying the decision to keep doing it.  It was about the joke being dull and boring, like Chuck Norris Facts or Youtube Poops.  Stuff that's funny at first but has LONG since worn out its welcome.

And that's the problem with The Room.  The joke is dead.  You want to know how I know?  Look.

This joke has long been dried up and run into the ground.  The people still saying "All-Righty then!" are looking at The Room jokes and going "Heard it."

The Room will always a special brand of So Bad It's Good cinema.  But the joke is way, way past overdone and overused.

This Saturday night, it's a heavyweight collision! Newly crowned UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos, fresh off of his 1st round knockout victory over Cain Velasquez on Fox, returns to the Octagon to battle submission specialist Frank Mir in an all heavyweight card! Cain attempts to bounce back from his devastating loss against Brazilian wrecking machine Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva! Plus, Jason "Mayhem" Miller returns on the FX Prelim show to battle CB Dolloway! The action starts 8pm on FX and 10pm on PPV! I mean, what the hell else would you watch?

Agreed. 3 years in a row was just enough to be brilliant.

But seriously, please don't subject us to another year of this. It is not necessary.

Besides there are plenty of other so terrible they're funny movies you could play. Brown Bunny anyone?

I am the Neck Kisser, I kiss necks. It's what I do. But not your neck. I would never kiss your neck

We don't have the money for new movies. We could try playing The Room backwards. That would be different, right?

the Turner umbrella has thousands of movies at its behest from the 30's to the present. You can't tell me there's one other movie/show in Turner's library that would make a good joke?

Yes we do. All the things you linked were horribly horribly horribly unfunny. Your point is practically nonexistent beyond "I don't want to see it so they shouldn't air it" which is a terrible argument. I don't really care if they air it again next year or not, but the fact that many people have done a god-awful job of making fun of the movie is not an argument for AS never airing it again.

Rifftrax was made by the original cast of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. So not only do you have no taste, you missed the point.

The Room isn't bad on its own to make fun of, and in a group it can be fairly enjoyable to make fun of. But it's like any internet meme. After a while, it stops being funny. Airing it has no punch and no zing. There is no way to say it's funny when the joke is tired and played out.

That's why I say new joke. Not because I'm going "Rrragh! Room bad!" but because the joke is as dead as Johnny.

Now, frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if we never got another April Fools joke here on [AS] again that didn't involve tR.

Its win-win for me either way, though, because even though I like tR, I also like to be fooled on April Fools.

How would you like a Rusty Venture?
There are 5 original seasons of Futurama, not 4.

I bet [as] will air The Room again next year,

next year April Fools Day falls on a Saturday,

this would be a perfect opportunity for [as]

to piss off people who are sick of The Room,

and better yet anime fans

they wouldn't give that up

I bet they won't do it a fifth time though

Airing The Room instead of not just anime, but anime PREMIERS would be the prank of all pranks. I don't care how many times they've aired The Room in the past, that is comedy gold.

Yeah, but if they advertise it and give the animu fans plenty of time to duck and cover, then it's not really as funny.

True. But keep in mind these are rabid anime fans we're dealing with. They will complain about literally anything. And in an over-exaggerated and hilarious fashion no less. I'm just imagining dozens of rage posts here about how not airing anime for one week has suddenly ruined all of these people's lives.

I enjoy watching AS's anime as much as the next guy, but at the end of the day they are just cartoons.

This is true.  But I feel like it would be funnier if it were sprung on them.

"I did naught hit her!  I DID NAUGHT!!!  Oh hai animu fans!"

And then the rage would be glorious.
