This is the first time I've done this so I have a couple questions.  Do people usually post with their alts before Halloween?  And do people post around the boards on that alt on Halloween or mainly stay in the party thread?

well, you can post with your Halloween alt before the event, but that just gives people more time and clues to out you with.

and yeah, people have posted outside the party thread with their alts on Halloween... but the thread moves ridiculously fast, so I find it's best to just stay there. unless you're running four or five browsers.

And even then, you might want to be careful -- especially during the late afternoon and evening hours on the 31st.
You lurk in other threads, then you're going to find yourself even further behind in this main thread.

It's a good test in speed reading, that's for sure.

To answer the rest of your questions, yes and for the most part. Others seem to have explained the difficulty of keeping up with the thread and posting elsewhere quite thoroughly.

Hmm, ok so that means on Monday, at midnight a party thread will be posted.  Is it usually floated or will I have to search for it?  We post in that thread all day on Tuesday, and then on Tuesday at midnight, when it becomes Halloween we reveal ourselves.
