Helpers create content for show wikis and show folders.  They help keep interest in show folders up.

Outside the show folders, they are like any user...and can have extreme opinions without flaming.  I doubt this would be an issue if the user wasn't a Helper...and fanning the flames of drama  (IE: making threads about it, calling the user out on it, basically bringing it up outside abuse reports and PMs to Humbug) is really a good way to solve it

Alright, I'm totally a third party here. I'm not going to say that I'm definitely right here, but I'd like to voice my opinion on the matter, based on your testimonials.

Now, I get that a lot of people were flaming the poster in question and calling her out, which isn't okay, but at the same time, does it stand to reason that that many people would get so worked up over something because of their own personality flaws? Like, do you really think every single person complaining is just prone to overreaction and they're all just trolls? Because a lot of these people are people I've seen post around here a lot - people I have respect for, who I don't see go off on and mercilessly flame/troll other posters over little things.

And at the same time, I keep seeing people saying that poster says things specifically to get a rise out of people. If that's true, doesn't that technically count as flame-baiting?

I know everyone who took the bait has to take responsibility and all that, but it seems like you modlies are kind of disregarding what everyone's saying on the basis of them being over-reacting trolls. Which I don't necessarily think is the right thing to do, because they may not be the root of the problem.

Again, I know there's probably a lot of this I'm not seeing either because mods are all-knowing or because I wasn't directly involved in the fiasco. Just figured I'd raise the possiblity and sow the seeds of thought. Or something.

Feel free to tear my argument apart.

I think wickedlady is a bit crass at times, and her political viewpoint quite surprised me, but she hasn't done anything terribly bad.

that's just my opinion. And if a helper were to truly break the rules, they would be out of here at some point, it's not going to slip by the mods.

to post on the board and state their political beliefs if they feel like

it and participate in discussions and actually even disagree with

people and participate in political type discussions/debates.

I think the view is that, if a helper disagrees with a lot of people,

they shouldn't be a helper because helpers should always smile

and never say what they think and should just stay all barefoot

and preggers and make me a sammej.

Every report is checked.

Every one. And helpers are moderated just like every other poster and probably moreso because of the tag.
