from SwimTorrent: "Hello, Incoherent Babblers. Lately there's been an awful lot of Roleplay or "RP" threads. These are different from game threads. Game threads have set rules on how to play the game, rarely ever deviate from them and are fairly simple to follow. Roleplay threads are defined as any thread in which members take on other personas than their own to, well, play. Any thread in which the bulk of the posts are "action" type interjections (for example: ::looks around, punches SwimMod_Odin:: ) will be labelled as an RP thread. I think you all know the difference.

That being said here are the new guidelines by which we will allow RP on these boards. These must be posted in the first thread of every roleplay thread, to announce its intention to be roleplay and not mere chat. Any RP thread without these posted will be deleted.

A) The creator of the thread is in charge of the Roleplay. He or she must list these guidelines in their first post and be responsible for keeping their thread on track with polite reminders and suggestions to those deviating from the rules. He or she must also set up guidelines by which their own roleplay will operate, so as too eliminate the possibility of unwarranted chat.

B) Every Roleplay thread MUST have a topic to which all participants must adhere. Merely stating that a thread is a bar or a hangout spot is not enough to avoid deletion; these become hotbeds for chat.

C) No inappropriate scenarios or chat is allowed.

D) Chat will not be allowed. "Characters" may converse, but any deviation into the "real world" will result in deletion.

E) The rules of the board still apply. Anything that would get you banned anywhere else on the boards will still get you banned here.
