i think your estimation is a bit high. i like to think that there aren't that many lames currently posting.

not really..as i said before..bascically the same thing happened when they talked about removing the ranks..
we didn't lose nearly as many people to that as we lost people who got fed up with the complainers and moved on.

If people leave there will be others to take their place. Time marches on...

of course, we'll lose people. some people complain about everything that happens to the boards. some of them actually leave, but they're few in number. i think it'd be the same with this. i don't think it'll be a significant number.

all i can say is im a duzi.
a swimcredible duzi.
whos sn keeps changing colors.

its all good.

i will admit, last night when the owls were changing back,
i was a little jealous.

this is an exciting time for the folks on this board.
how long did we complain we needed another rank?
LOTS.
and when we get one (or 20), we gripe.

we're so damned hard to please.


in short.. we're not our ranks.
we're us.
we always have been us.

No, it's really not, because along with them talking about removing the ranks, they talked about getting rid of the Noise section and replacing it with General Discussion, and that change isn't petty to those whose board lifestyle is posting silly stuff in IB.

theyve taken all our obsessions on ranks and tossed them to the wind.
theres no more elitist rank.
no one will look at a shady and ignore them.

I'd love to be able to change colors every once and a while. Like I said in the other thread. I wish they had the ability to add slight diffferences between the Owl names since getting from 25666 to 55000 takes a long time. I like the rank of Owl knight though, cool name.

no one knew who locke__ was at the first.....it was almsot a week before i revealed this alt..and most ppl didn't even assume it was an alt

and there are a lot of users who rank is everything.....good people but ones too obsessed with rank. this will either
A.) cause them to leave
B.) cause them to spam up the place with complaints so others leave

This is just silly.

It is ranks.

Ranks that were arbitrary to begin with.

Ranks that were meant to be fun.

They got old. And now, there is something here fun again. New ranks. New requirements. People come and go for so many reasons.

I'm going to go ahead and say it. If someone leaves for such a petty reason as a change in the rank, they were never really apart of this community. Take it for what it is. Just fun words under your name. They mean nothing. Never did.

I said something very similar to that earlier in this thread.  If people want to leave because the ranks changed, let them.  I don't care.  If they came for a stupid color as opposed to discussion or camaraderie with other users, then it's probably better that they're not here.

if people want to leave because they cant handle this change..
then thats on them.
some will be back, some wont.

Exactly.

Getting rid of a folder, that's a major change and could drive people away.

Changing a font color, and a phrase under a name is nothing.

Shouldn't really even be a discussion outside of "How do I get that name?" or "Did you see that one?"

And bring on the complainers. I don't get to bash people with a logic stick enough.

it's still not the same.....it's no where near as much fun as it was before...

look, i agrea with prety much everyone in here that it's a stupid reason to leave...
i just don't ever want to go through that kinda drama on here ever agian.

that was by no strech of the immagination, a fun time to be on the boards..and that's what this is about having fun
