I had a few in there.  But they, alas, were cut by S&P.

They're probably right.

Nice editing, sir.   And I appreciate you vouching for me.

But wait.  Since when can you not say "If I wanted to get **bleep** I would have given some starving **bleep** **bleep** a **bleep**?

Gosh.  Talk about p.c.  :smileyhappy:

The ending song is Pari Jona Daisakusen.  YouTube has the original japanese.  It's catchy, too.

I can't make out one line of the song.  It's at the end between the two 'party party' lines and right before Georgie's "Grand old party it is".  It sounds like Boo but I can't make it out.

...Shake your day away and you can
Party party!
Boo:??????what the heck does he say??????
Party Party
Georgie: Grand ol party it is
Party Party

I believe Boo is saying 'I got my dancing shoes.'

I still think the Katrina joke you told me off-camera is the most horrible thing I've ever heard.  And given where I work, that's saying a lot.  I'm just glad you didn't mention it during filming or it might have spontaneously burned the tape and released vengeful spirits that would have melted the faces of dozens of surprised Nazis and swirled menacingly around Indiana Jones' head.  Close call there.

Just wondering how good this show is doing in tv ratings?

And im wondering, how many episodes does [as] have of this show? Will we be seeing much more?

And remember Action **bleep** says put your mouth on a sausage. :smileyvery-happy:

Unfortunately I don't know who wrote/arranged the English version, but I do know it's sung by Brina Palencia, aka Georgie.  Yeah.  She's skillful.  That song really is like audio crack, isn't it?

Oh speaking of her. After seeing her on the interactive video, I really like her hair style. Be sure to tell her that some weird, possiblely quite creepy, guy on the [as] message board thinks she has a spiffy hair style, then give a wide redicious smile and a big thumbs up. please :smileywink:

You know something, we have to also be careful on what we hear or otherwise we would see a complete ratings drop, well lets hope that won't happen.
Since this is not much of a sig, I will say this, to anyone who wants to hate Toonami's Return or anything related to it without having to troll members of other message boards visiting the ASMB as well as the member here,

This was another thing I wanted to comment on; how much I love that song :smileyvery-happy:

Also on how talented Brina must be. Because even knowing that she does Georgie's voice, I can't hear any moajor similarity between the two voices. Good job, Brina!

I love Georgie, and his voice :smileyhappy:

First let me say I think the english version is funny as hell.  Precentage wise how much of the script is re writen when compaired to the original? Do you guys know when we may see a new closing air on Adult Swim? I have to say when I first heard of this show coming to
AS I thought "Are they F'n serious?" But after seeing it with Funimation's dub its become one of my farorite animes on the block. Please keep em coming.

Did you make a longer version of the English ending theme too or just the 1:20 "tv" version? There's a version of the Japanese theme that's about 4 and a half minutes.

I didn't know Hima wasn't an original part of the show, does that mean theres a whole bunch of episodes about Shin's mom getting knocked up/being pregnant? And maybe even a giving birth episode?? If so, that seems like something you could have a field day with writing. It'd be a shame to never be able to see it.

Okay, after seeing this question, going through my Hawaiian friend's battered old VHS tapes of the KIKU subs, and getting distracted by all the commentaries and interviews(Great going there guys. There were that good:smileyhappy: ) I'm finally able to answer this.

I was lucky to find that my friend happened to have all the Pregnant Mitzi vignettes on him. She was pregnant for the span of thirty vignettes, however only eleven of them were Pregnant Mitzi stories and the rest featured Shin and the kids away from the house(Including a three part vignette where Shin, Maso, Boo, and Georgie get lost in the mountains while on a school field trip and a two-part vignette where Georgie gets a crush on an older women). The actual birth didn't take place in a regular vignette, but rather in a two-hour special seperate from the main series. Unforunately, KIKU never aired the specials so I don't have it.

The vignette where Mitzi announces her pregnancy is one of the most touching segments, because it has Shin showing some actual serious concern for her. Like Penny's dad actually showing up, that's one of the most rarest things in the whole series. While some of the Pregnant Mitzi stories are the slower paced, at-home episodes they do have some great moments(Like Mitzi dealing with a REALLY bad case of Morning Sickness for an entire vignette). I really want to explain in detail, but I don't want to spoil any of the jokes.

To Jared and the other writers, if these episodes from around 1996 ever come available to you, would you be interseted in doing them in some sort of flashback way?

Here's a shot of Pregnant Mitzi. For some reason I find the translation in this shot funny:

And here's another one. This is a charming shot of Mitzi and Shin, from the final vignette before the birth special:

Hey Torrent, not sure on other action fans would be but anyway we could get Shin Chan on saturday seeing how we have some comedy on saturdays line up maybe take out Oblongs or Boondoacks out and replace it with some Shin Chan think that would be a nice change there. Not sure if you could suggest it to who ever decides the schedualing there. All I know is I like to see some more Shin Chan episodes seeing how it sounds like there are alot of them and we only have a few.

And with a question not sure if someone asked this but gave you the idea of this as a cartoon? Think its genius with everything that goes on with him and his family. They get into the craziest things would love to see more of it.

Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes here, but according to Evan Dorkin, it was actually his partner Sarah Dyer who brought the original Japanese show to the attention of Cartoon Network, but this was many years ago. The fact that Funimation used them to punch up some of the early scripts is probably entirely coincidental.

Well, pass on to Brina that she did an amazing job and has a wonderful voice.  Sometimes I listen to just the song and don't watch any of that other tripe.  :smileywink:

Re: Flashbacks, pregnant Mitzi

Jared, Joel, and I have talked a little in recent days about doing some flashback-y stuff set in Falling Apartments as a way to keep Yonro and Denture Lady alive. So perhaps there is hope for a bevy of Mitzi-gets-pregnant shorts.  Oh, and the vignette about Mitzi throwing up constantly sounds like it re-writes itself. What a marvelous seven minutes that will make!

Well that would kinda close to what Aqua Teen Hunger Force would do, even in the issues of Master Shake vomiting a lot, even in eating or Drinking most gross stuff, but maybe I am going a bit off topic on that.

I just watched the interactive video on the site homepage.Wow, what a job. Looks like a lot of fun. Voice acting has been a "dream job" of sorts for me for a while now.

Also, the "Iraqi Freedom / Operation Cluster F**k" line was hilarious :smileyvery-happy: In a case like that, why was the alt line chosen?

i noticed alot of references in alt lines and stuff, when reading those scripts from the interactive video/

Like when shin needs to pee, in an alt line he says he would need "R Kellys Girlfriend"

How many things have you guys referenced so far, i mean whats the whole spectrum of referencing for you guys?
Maybe you could giveus some examples of past references, or maybe some ideas of what you'dlike to mention?

I dunno, i guess you don'tgo out of your way to make certain references, just a thought.

Ok I got a request and question for all 4 of you, that includes Alex, Peter, Joel, and Jared,

Is there a chance you can try to offer any of the voice actors in Shin Chan to join this board nad the Fan Collective, besides if they did voices for other Funimation anime, it would be good if they joined the Fan Collective and added some fans to keep track of their favorite actors, because I know they probably want to answer some questions as much as we do.

I can always suggest it.  Keep in mind, though, the writers and most VAs are independent from FUNimation.  Also, they have many other projects besides FUNimation.  So, although we can suggest, its not a given that it will happen.

Taping that interactive extra was so much fun, though.  I'm amazed that I don't hear myself in the background.  Sometimes I busted out laughing and I could have sworn that I ruined the take.  The cast chemistry is amazing.  We were all having a very good time.
