First off I really enjoy Shin-chan and I thank you for that. Second how much trouble did you have to go through with rewritting and rerecording the script from it's original japanesse version? Finally what really brought about shin-chan to america and why adult swim if you dont mind me asking?
thanks

I would think the Japanese version would be pretty funny too, in its own right.
But yeah, I would love love love looooove for the DVDs to have the original Japanese for comparison. That would really be awesome. That would be better that any special feature I could think of.

Hello.
Who wrote the line in "Itsy Mitzy Spider" when Mitzy [sp?] says "Spiders..... It's like they know I hate them" and what was their inspiration for that line? I swear I've heard more than one person say that, lol.
Also has Jared written for [as] in any way outside of Shin Chan/Funimation? He seems like he would be a good part of the WS team. ( maybe a fellow board member can answer this? )
Keep up the great work! ![]()

That line was kind of a triple entendre, playing on swimming pool rules (the source of much frustration to me as a youth), the nighttime block on Cartoon Network (the source of much amusement and income to me as an adult) and "adult" meaning naughty (the source of... well...). But yes, [as] was definitely in mind while writing that line. Not "poking a stick" necessarily, just a winking reference.

About the episode 15 Adult Swim reference, surely it was poking a stick at [as] right?

Seriously! Strawberry Shortcake, the beloved 80s icon, would be SHOCKED to learn that her name is too hot for TV.
tvs_emory wrote:Hey. Do you writers know who handles the bleeps for the show? You need to tell them to cool it. It's getting ridiculous. They're now bleeping words like "retard" and phrases like "packing their fudge" or "fudge-lickers" or "strawberry short-cake." Stuff like this has been said on Family Guy. Referring to one's p3nis as their d!ck is okay too. In fact, Aqua Teen built a whole episode around that joke.

Well congratulations, Yans... you have shamed us back onto the web. ![]()
The truth is I have been in a time capsule buried in my backyard the last couple weeks. i go there to recharge and think about new ways we can say "poop" in a sentence.
First, with ep. 17 airing a few hours ago, I want to tip my hat to Joel for the "stakeout of the closet" vignette. Mostly because I did learn so much about imaginatively grotesque sex acts. On that shortcake line Joel had about ten other "colorful" alts, and a note in the margins that said something like "these are all real terms, you can look up their definitions at [such and such website]." I happened to be up at the studio while they were recording this part, and Zach was like, "yeah, by the way, the note was unnecessary." Apparently Zach and Joel would be a really good team playing "Trivial Pursuit: Illegal Things That Would Make Your Mom Vomit Edition."
Now, a question!

What did "Clap, or we will find you" say originally? (I was almost on the floor when I saw that hehe)
I went back and looked, and the translation didn't include a translation for the banner. But the signboard outside originally said "Ai Suotome – Setagaya’s Darling Pianist -- Piano Recital Hall." "Clap, or we will find you" seemed like the obvious choice.
I'll look through what I've missed to answer more questions. So keep asking!
