Regarding Space Ghost...

Can anyone give me a conclusive reason why AS is not showing any Space Ghost? I would like to see old episodes at least. I still have the DVD's and other "acquired" episodes, but still, the fanbase is decreasing all the time, and Space Ghost was the Adult Swim pioneer show. I think if AS showed SG, they'd get a lot more fans, because Space Ghost is a great show and has the same type humor as ATHF, and look at the ATHF fanbase!! It's freakin huge!! If SG was shown, I think you could get so much more fans. I am thankful for the DVD's, but I just want to know exactly why AS has neglected the Ghost for so long.

Oh yeah, thanks for reading this. :smileyhappy:

New Space Ghosts would be great! They could interview new people, like Will Ferrel, and Jon Stewart. Or even the Seths! I think bringing back Space Ghost is a fantastic plan.

Dunno about that, my local music store got a used copy of Surf 'n' Turf in today and it sold in a few hours, before I could even look at it.

It still has a big fanbase, but it is decreasing all the time, because there are so many people that have never even heard of Space Ghost.

That would be great, but i doubt AS is going to do that, as one of the SwimInsiders said that SG is dead and the show will not be coming back.

That's a shame.:smileysad: I was only able to get my friends hooked just before it was cancelled.  Maybe with increased DVD sales it could pull a Family Guy.  I'll just have to start working harder and faster, instead of being a lazy procrastinator as usual.

There are too many differences. I remember that a member posting here once that he met Space Ghost at store and he said he would not do anymore episodes so new ones are out of the question unlike Family Huy. Also, Adult Swim is not a Fox, they announce every change that they make ( Futurama and Family have the most switches) so viewers can't not know when it would be on. New epsidoes had no hope of coming so it pulled a Kikaider and have not been seen since.

Why is Coast to Coast dead?  Is George Lowe dead to you all?  Is it 'cause Mr. Croker lost his voice?  Is there just no interest from anyone to write more C2C episodes?  Why does everyone at WS suddenly hate the best thing y'all ever produced?  (To three of us at least.)

AND, are you trying to kick us geeks out the basement so that you can turn it into a makeout room for the cool kids?

.....dem so-ho's.  so jelous of the real deals:
http://snacks.cyberpunks.org/hohos.html

here is an, um, decent explanation of why space ghost is dead:

SG: Welcome to the program!
CO: I'm sorry. I thought the show was over.
SG: It started?
CO: Yeah. Oh yeah.
SG: Okay. Well then, greetings I'm Space Ghost.
CO: Space Man.
SG: Space Ghost.
CO: You were a space man who died and became a space ghost.
SG: I've always been dead, Conan.
CO: No one can always be dead, Space Ghost.
SG: I was dead long before you were born, Conan, and I'll be dead long before you're dead.
CO: Space Ghost is obviously a space man who died and became a space ghost. Now, I know that you don't want the kids to know that you died (fake crying), but you died, baby! And you got to get down with that.
SG: NO!
CO: FACE IT, SPACE GHOST!
SG: NO!
CO: YOU'RE A SPACE MAN THAT CHOKED ON A MUFFIN!
SG: THAT, SIR, IS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE I AM ALLERGIC TO MUFFINS!

[he choked on a so-ho all messy w/ho-hos!!!]

that, my frens, is from this: http://snard.com/sg/guide/?ep=75a&fmt=3

To answer your last question first... no one ever said we were cool. However, that isn't to say that we don't enjoy a good make-out session now and then. Idealy, a basement should double as both a geek lair as well as a den for lovin'. But I digress...

Not everyone at Williams Street hates SGC2C. In fact, the majority of us love the show. Now, I can't speak for all of the folks who made that show happen, but it seems as though they just got tired of working on it and wanted to branch of into new territory.
