I whole heartily agree. I don't have much of a problem addressing this here, because this seems to be an emerging problem down in Noise (particularly, Rants and Babbling).
Sarteck, I'm afraid the point most people seem to be missing is that if they are ticked off, just don't post. If you're going to risk coming across as nasty and condescending, it won't be of much help to anyone.
Generally, if you're going to post in a thread just to attack the premise of the thread, or the author for making the thread, you shouldn't.
I personally don't understand the people who post things like "Wrong Folder" and the like. It isn't being helpful, and I'm sure they must know that. The only reason I might see is for their own gratification. To feel like some kind of an authority on the matter.
If possible, if you see a thread you feel obligated to respond to because of a notable violation and the person just might need some guidance, you should be as friendly as possible and point the person to the FAQ and/or Guidlines/Folder Definitions for an explaining on the rules, and wish them a good time.
It's not our job to dispense any kind of punishment, or to declare the fate of threads.
It also might be a good idea to check out Luuv's thread for anyone whose in the mood to help.
"For all newcomers, all w/Questions, & all helpers"
Final Note: If you're trying to help, remember, you're trying to help the person who might need it. Try to Help Them.
(The final note sounds entirely redundant, but it seems that some people don't keep that in mind)
Sunny, for a name like that, you're awfully grim sometimes :-)
Few threads really make a difference, but I at least like to keep a place where I can just express my thoughts on whatever seems to be up at any given moment on the Boards, as well as discuss their general health. I don't expect every new person to come in and reach a revelation (there have probably been thousands and thousands of new people since this thread has been created, and I don't expect any to stop in here).
And one last point to go through...
It seems like the new Mods have had some impact on the Boards, as people have noted. The number of Mods needed estimated by people earlier in this thread may have been a tad high.
One final note (this is a very general note, to everyone who has been so kind as to respond here): Try to only post in here when there is something to discuss. There's no harm in the thread dying for a week or two, if there are nothing really of interest to talk about. Redundant posts are no fun.
(My apologies for two long posts in fairly rapid succession, but that's all I'll probably have to add for a while)
Thanks for your time.
