So...you missed the custom icons?
Well, get ready...because now YOU can have one! Again.
Before you get too happy...be warned that this is going to require you to READ all the instructions.
If you think this thread is "too long, didn't read"...then chances are you are not going to get your icon.
The following guidelines must be observed in order to request your special icon.
- Icons will be subject to all [adultswim] Terms of Use .
- If your icon does not meet the requirements, it will not be posted to your account. At any time, your icon can be removed as deemed necessary by the administrators and moderators.
- If you submit bannable material, you will face ban time determined by the administrators and moderators.
- You may request ONE special Icon per account every fourteen (14) days.
- If your submission does not follow the guidelines for acceptable icons, it will still count as your ONE submission for the time frame.
- Due to circumstances beyond our control, you may not request icons for Robot Chicken and Family Guy.
- Your icon must be for a current [adultswim] show.
- Your icon MAY NOT contain fan art, live-action characters/actors (for ANY show), and it must be content owned by [adultswim].
- Submitted icons MAY NOT contain spoilers. All content must be from already-aired episodes from television (NOT The Fix).
- PLEASE, please list the episode number and show that your icon is from.
- Icons must adhere to the following size specifications or they will not be allowed: Dimensions- EXACTLY 80 pixels by 80 pixels. File size - NO LARGER than 8kb (8,000 bytes).
- The acceptable file types include .jpg and .gif
- Icons MAY NOT be animated even though that would be really cool because animated icons are mostly annoying (see Odin's sig).
- If your icon does not meet aesthetic standards
(i.e. it's fugly), you will be asked to resubmit your icon. This will
not count as your ONE submission during the 14 day period.
- Please make sure your icon is named after your user name. Example: User name SwimOdin will have a submitted icon with a name like swimodin.jpg. If you plan to use the same icon for multiple accounts, you will need to submit the icon saved as each user name. Please post your completed icon linked through photobucket, tinyimg, imageshack, etc.
- Along with you icon link, please post the name of the show and the character that you are using, even if it should be obvious.
- You may not request an icon from a site that you do not personally have control over. You must submit your own icons, not icons from someone else's site.
- Your
icon will be moved to an image hosting site of our choice. You will not
have personal access to the hosted image after submission. Please save your icon because icons can be deleted from the image hosting site as deemed necessary by admins and mods.
- You are encouraged to submit a unique, personal icon. However, if you insist on using the same icon that someone else submits, you are still required to supply an icon with YOUR user name. Don't simply say "I want X's icon."
- You
may be denied a special icon for any reason. Posting an acceptable icon
does not necessarily mean it MUST be posted to your account.
- If you accidentally change your icon, you will not be able to switch to your special icon on your own. If this happens, you must wait until the end of the 14 day submission limit. No whining if this happens to you.
- No whining or complaining. There is no guarantee of the speed with which your icon will be uploaded to your account.
- At any time, without warning, the special icon process may be removed completely. If this happens, these icons will simply be permanently deleted.
- You may change your icon at any time to a standard icon using the normal method.
- If your account is permabanned, your icon may be deleted resulting in a blank icon for that name.
- Rules and guidelines subject to change without notice.
- DO NOT request icon submissions via PM or IM to any of the mods or admins unless specifically directed to do so.
If you do this, you will NOT receive your icon. Mods and admins are not
required to perform this service. When they wish to help with this
matter, they will come to THIS THREAD. DO NOT send a PM or IM to any mod asking "WEN WILL I HAZ ICANZ?!!one!!?"
- This thread will be locked/unlocked by mods/admins when they are in the mood to work on the icons. Do not make threads asking when it will be open. DO NOT make threads just for submissions. If you do this, you will be placed on a special list, and you will never, ever receive a special icon.
- Please do not
make a request for every single account you've ever made. Until the
program gets established, and we're sure we're going to keep this up,
please only request a special icon for your MAIN account and possibly your favorite alt. More accounts may be allowed at a later date.
Feel
free to ask questions before you submit your icons. PLEASE read all the
rules carefully. We promise you will never have to read anything else
again in your entire life (other than, most likely, that search warrant
from the FBI).
On a side note, please be patient. The process to check, upload, and install the icons can be pretty tedious.
