December was originally the tenth month. Hence the prefix dec, which means 10.

There's 52 weeks of the Runic calendar (thus the runes) made up of 7 days.

the runes pictured are lake, day, and tyr

Tyr = precursor to Odin (in mythology)
If one of the other runes is "day" then Wednesday is the day. Wednesday was named for Odin/Wodan.

I have no idea what this means or if it is relevant.

These are all questionable things, but i have been lost in thought for a while, and haven't really gotten anywhere with it....the new clues shed more light, but i will have to do more thinking.

this riddle seems to have been somewhat ignored. what does it refer to?
to me, it screams reflection or mirror image, something along those lines.

if you were to mirror the runes in some way, or if the runes are already mirrored and you would un-mirror them (you can with the second and third ones) what would the characters mean?

Actually, it reminds me of neutrality or nothingness. Apathy, even.
The first rune, the one for "water/lake", would mean nothing mirrored.
