I'd say something topic worthy but I think everything has been said about spam and no-nos. As for the whole age of the site thing, I see plenty of so-called adults who, on a daily basis, beg to have the stupid smacked out of them. Age on the boards as I see it is generally a non-issue for most of the stuff that gets posted. You don't think you can have an "adult discussion" about something around here? Since when? Adult discussion is not the posting of porn links or describing your experiments with drugs, alcohol, and your cousin. If a topic can be handled with maturity, it's not going to get you in trouble. Unfortunately, things like hentai pron druggie crap that seem to flash the mod signal as soon as a thread is made don't attract the level of maturity that would allow anything like that to exist for very long around here. Don't like those types of restrictions - find a new place to post about that stuff. I'm sure it's not that hard, I can probably find a pron link by googling "crayola" .

He could not, as far as I am aware, change his signature for a while.

those are things that go on the market. Having a name only starts things off. the numbers are what rack up money. NUMBERS!!!!

naming something only gets it known. it's what they do that gets in the money. Adult swim got its name just to make itself look cooler. they only got rich because of ratings and adversing.

The name draws in consumers, they buy the product even if it's complete junk just because of the name. All the selling caused by the name gives them the numbers you say rack up the money. The term "name brand" exists for a reason you know. Ever wonder why name brand products cost more? It's because of the name. It's the exact same crap as generic brands, just with a different name. Slap a popular label on a bag of dog crap and it will sell like hot cakes. It doesn't matter how good your product is if the name repulses consumers. Try naming a soft drink "Vomit" and see how well it sells.

My 2 cents on the age thing are as follows: You just want it 18+ for hentai and fanservice pics. I say this because you complained about being able to get banned by sending those through the PM system. Here's a thought, if you are so eagerly ready to give up your credit card info to post hentai on here, why not just buy a subscription to a hentai site? Of course I am assuming you don't already have like 7 subscriptions.

If you really are so against minors being here, why not just leave and go somewhere more ideal for you?

I posted this in IB earlier, and I figured I should post it here too.

I think that a long temp ban is a more effective punishment than a perma.  With a perma, you usually get over losing your account pretty quickly, too quickly to reflect on what you did wrong.  With a long temp, you know you'll get your account back, and you tend to think about it a lot more, and that makes you consider what you did wrong more closely.  At least that's how it's worked out for me.

Sounds like he may have clicked a link to be removed from recieving e-mail alerts about posts in threads or to messages subscribed to. This happened to someone else and they posted about it in the previous mod thread incarnation. Clicking that e-mail link seems to cause Lithium to kill your account access instead of just taking your e-mail off the auto-send. I don't know if the mods are able to over-ride that type of bannage or if an Admin can be appealed via Mod to get such an account back or if it's totally up to catching a Lith-Tech. But I think it's worth a warning to people that if they don't want to recieve alerts like that, the best way to get rid of them is to float favorite threads instead of subscribing to them and eventually the alerts will die off.

They really need to put a warning on that thing to let people know exactly what happens to their account when they click it.

my problem is with one mod specifically..to be fair im not100% sure that this is the same mod in this exact instince but im pretty confient that it is. Anyways my problem is with the bull**bleep** favortism hown by the mods, like yesterday a there were bout 10 shout/flame threads made about me and it's not like you could miss them i mean at one point there were about 5 on one page at one point..hell i was actually ind of flattered, so hell i make one lame/ shout out thread in response and i get hit with a perma ban, but nothin happened to the other users..this has been going on for a while and with the same mod too.. hell im the first to admit that im no angel, and hell i know i broke a rule, but im not the only one..hell ill take my ban as long as the other perps get punished too, but with this mod it never happens

like this one time..same mod..people were spamming up my threads flaim and trolling and **bleep**..i report them, nothing happens..it went on for like 3hours i report them every 30 minutes or so nothing happens..so i decide to  write F.E.A.R **bleep** in xx large font in this fear thread of the guy who was doing all that **bleep**..he said he reportedme..not 4 minutes when by and i was perma banned

**bleep** like this has happened atleast 6-8 times now and it's getting annoying

Well you're right about how people should be treated fairly and if somebody's trolling you, they should get at least a warning for it if not a ban or something.

But you have a very very bad history here on the boards, including posting a thread about committing a possible felony.

So when a moderator responds to a situation, they have that note staring them in the face.

When another user posts something borderline, and they have no bad history, it's possible a moderator could let them off with a PM warning or something of that nature.  Or even a short temp ban that you don't even know the person was given.  Or even a permaban.  Who knows.

But - the point is, if you are seen as threatening someone on the boards, with your posting history, it carries a different context.  And speaking personally, while I sympathize with what you're saying about being frustrated by the situation, if I were to read a post of yours even remotely threatening another user, I would ban you instantly and permanently.

Because of your posting history.

I'm not saying you actually threatened somebody, I'm just trying to give you some perspective on why mods do what they do.

If you think you're not being treated fairly though, you should bring it up.  And again, if you would simply state the actual details - including the screen name you're talking about, maybe in a little calmer and more easily understandable way, you might get somewhere.

No guarantees, but you never know.

I find it to be annoying, and I know it's not porn, but it's a step up to porn and I believe it should be bannable.
