Jon Benjamin has a van

[ Edited ]

Had both Tim and Eric on as aliens!  Nobody else has caught this, not their funniest moment but it was good to see them again!  Funny or Die production... :smileyvery-happy:

I think T&E produce the show because that's their "AB-SO-LUTELY" production card at the end.

I liked it when Eric put on his traditional glasses over the alien makeup.

In every non-Awesome Show television appearance, Tim does more talking than Eric.  In all of the talk shows Tim sat closer to the host :Ferensten, Kimmel, Fallon, O'Brien.

Same with Bob's Burgers and now Jon Benjamin Has a Van.  I think the only thing Eric might've had more lines in was their ATHF cameo.

Eric has a lot of lines, but he didn't take one of the pills so we couldn't understand him.

This was the best episode of JBHAV out of the three, in my opinion, even though I am pretty biased because Tim and Eric were in it.  I thought the whole storyline and side-skits were funnier than the first two episodes.

The guy who did the Shame On Me segment (Edward something) reminded me of Dr. Steve Brule.

That's because Tim and Eric and a lot of their crew from TGTTM/ Awesome Show / Check it Out/ work on the show.

Look at the credits next time and you'll notice some familiar names.

Yeah, that dude's awesome. He played Bob Fossil in The Mighty Boosh, as well.

That's what I recognized him from. I love that show.

In fact anyone who likes both Awesome show and Jon Benjamin probably needs to check out Mighty Boosh if they haven't already. I give it my highest recommendation.

The episode with aliens was great.

"Casa-whu?"

Just got done watching episode five.  Good stuff all around.

I was excited that they did another Shame On Me report with Edward Sheath.

And Leo finally changed clothes for some reason.  Not a big deal, I just found that kind of odd.

And Coleslaw, I think TMB is all right, but if we're talking British humor, I recommend Look Around You.

The misinformation in that show is hilarious and I think Awesome Show fans who particularly enjoy the Cinco commercials would get a kick out of Look Around You.

I totally agree. I love Look Around You too. I guess I think anyone surfing the Awesome show boards should check out any of the bizarre shows like that.

Family Guy is not as funny to me as it was in high school. I just don't care about that kind of humor anymore. It almost has to be bizarre or awkward for me to enjoy it so I'm really thankful for shows like the brit-block and t&e.

Are you a fan of Brad Neely's work? I do comics and Neely is a big influence on my stuff. I recommend him highly. Creased comics is his website.

Yeah, Family Guy isn't as good as I used to think it was.  Maybe I grew out of it.  Before high school, even.  It's still an all right show and I'll watch it from time to time.  I still think American Dad can be funny at times.

I've never heard of Brad Neely.  I'll check him out.

Thank you, Coleslaw.

Suicide, tonight's episode of JBHV, was mind-blowing.

I think I liked it even more than Stardoor, and that's saying something because T&E were in that episode.

When possible comparisons come to mind, I think of the TGTTM episode Spray a Carpet Rug in that Suicide elicited a terrific combination of terror and other emotions that I can't quite put a finger on.

All I know is I couldn't look away from this episode.

Yeah it was really good.

That look on the detectives face as Jon was leaving the interrogation room was both funny and creepy.

It reminded me of Hot Fuzz. Like the suicide rate in the town is a secret that all the townspeople know about.

They're probably not done with that particular skit.

I was trying desperately to watch that but I had to leave! I pretty much stopped when the Look Like Your Pet segment ended. I was also looking forward to seeing Rich Fulcher, since I'm a Mighty Boosh fan. :smileysad:

Rich Fulcher has been in three of the six episodes so far as Edward sheath.  He's great.

I'm glad that his character keeps coming back.

The ending scene was definitely a highlight.

That and the ***SPOILER ALERT***  show knife that only Jon, Nathan, Leo, and Dave use:smileyvery-happy:

I dunno about that,  although I wouldn't mind if they did decide to expand on it.

The only recurring skit has been Shame On Me.

"fanboy much"

Whelp. just trying to give a possible explanation for my rationale.

But it wasn't only Tim and Eric that made Stardoor a good episode, for me.

I found the whole plot to be funnier than that of the first two respective episodes combined.

Border and Litte Little Italy were kinda lackluster.

But, in my opinion, I think the show's shaky start is understandable.

It's new to everybody, it's in its trial run, but the van is picking up speed, if you catch my drift.

Thats a good quote. I like it.

I'm noticing a "merge" between Adult Swim and Comedy Central.

What with Futurama airing on the CC and the Comedy Awards having a lot of Adult Swim programs up for awards.

I do consider "The van" to be a trial run. If it winds up getting cancelled like so many other TV shows

then it means that Ab-so-lutely isn't ready for mainstream appeal.

Sorry about the fanboy thing too. I guess I shouldn't be throwing stones should I? ;D

Adult Swim and Comedy Central are sister networks, I'm actually surprised that it's taken them some time to start openly recognizing one another, since Comedy Central airs animated comedy as well.

Adult Swim and Comedy Central are not sister networks. Comedy Central is owned by Viacom, and Adult Swim is owned by Turner Broadcasting, whose parent network is Time-Warner.

If Viacom and Turner Broadcasting aren't both owned by Time Warner, then I guess not. Although you can have sister networks and stations that aren't owned by the same companies.

Nope, Viacom is its own entity. And usually when we talk about sister networks, we're talking about two networks that are owned by the same company. Adult Swim and TBS are sister networks, for example, both under the Turner umbrella.

http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/sister-company.html

Turner and Viacom are practically natural enemies in the wild that is television production. Only very recently have they been advertising their shows on each other's networks (specifically, Childrens Hospital and Futurama). And yeah, Childrens Hospital winning at the Comedy Awards was also surprising. Maybe they declared a momentary truce, or an alliance of convenience. CC and AS compete over the same group of viewers, so it's sort of strange to see any kind of cooperation.

Oh yes I know sister networks or stations are usually owned by the same company but I was just stating that sister networks or stations can actually not be owned by the company and still consider themselves as such.

However in my case, I thought Adult Swim and Comedy Central were sister networks because they were owned by the same company. :smileysad:

Now thinking about what Adoko was saying about them recognizing a lot of Adult Swim shows and the fact that Viacom and Time Warner are enemies is interestingly funny.

I quite enjoy this show as well.  It's a more conventional comedy type show, but.. only sort of.  The show has only gotten better for me as it's progressed..  I enjoyed the Little Little Italy episode, and the Suicide episode was good, and the latest one whose name I forget, the Satanist one..  they're all good really..  I think the first one they aired is the weakest..  go figure..  STUDIO EXECS, AM I RIGHT PEOPLE,

AM I RIGHT??????????//////////?1?/2///3
