I rewatched the first episode of Awesome Show and came to a realization. See, in the first episode, Tim has that one old guy (can't remember his name) pretend to be his dad supporting Tim's new show. And then Eric is like, "That's not Tim's dad!" And the episode is over.
Then in the last episode of that show, Tim's dad actually appears, but it's Tim's funeral.
I originally thought that Tim's quest to win his father's respect was one of their many weird, awkward jokes... But now I'm seriously starting to wonder if this whole show was only ever intended to bring Tim and his father together. If that is true, then that is kind of disappointing. My question is: Is it a joke, or is it not a joke?

no, i don't think this show is a cryout to Tims father.
to be honest i believe he is deceased, i think the ABSO lutely clips are Tim's real dad. On the commentaries i would notice Tim solemnly say "theres my dad"
so i assume that he passed away, and i think someone told me about it but i am really not 100%.

The Abso-lutely guy is Tim's real father. It's the same man who is on the last episode of season 2 at the funeral.
Tim's father is still alive, and they both have a great relationship w/ eachother.
It's just an on going joke between Eric and Tim, that Tim's father likes Eric better than his own son.
You have to remember that they've been friends for years before ever having a tv show, so they are close with eachothers family's too.
It's all just a joke
