There were some scenes where we the audience had to ridiculously overly laugh, like show time at the appolo arsenio hall dog pound type stuff,i kinda wish some of that had made it in

Thank you! I was trying pretty hard to figure out what the second half of the lyrics to that song were! I still think the best lyric is:
"Best friends / Just a couple of heerooes!!!"
I really think the musical numbers on this show are really well done. They seem to pick apart all the little nuances of the production styles of each genre, everything from the vocal harmonies, down to the reverb on the drums. It's all perfect. Like everything else on the show, they pay a lot of attention to detail with the music.

Hey, I was there too! Yeah, we (the extras in the audience) were there for hours that day. There was a TON of stuff that didn't make it into "Robin." For example, Tim was supposed to be very late coming to the stage since his "Robin" ran away, so we (the audience) were told to appear very bored and fidgety. When Tim finally comes out, there is a tiny smattering of applause and the elderly black woman (who Eric ends up kissing) in the front row says "It's about time." They did 2 or 3 takes of that, but it was not included in the final cut. T&E also performed at least 30-45 minutes of silly (and I mean SILLY) antics, but they only used a fraction of their entire act. We were initially told the whole "Robin" thing was going to be a 2-part story, and the theater performance segment was going to be the second part, but I guess T&E decided not to drag it out into two separate shows. It was fun being an extra though. My BF actually got a full head shot in that segment! He was the guy with the long Slash-like hair (not laughing, just sitting there with a slightly amused look on his face). Lucky ** funky chicken **. I was seated one row in front of him, but way to the left side. I can be seen a few times (blonde hair, white blouse) behind some skinny kid in a plaid shirt, but I didn't get a close-up!
I had my doubts when T&E described the storyline to us. It didn't sound like it was going to be too funny. The impersonator didn't do much during the theater sequence (behind-the-scenes tidbit: everyone had to call him Robin whether he was being filmed or not), but after seeing the finished product, I was pleasantly surprised. He was hilarious in the earlier apartment scenes when T&E were trying to talk and he was running around in the background! I agree that this is one of the best overall T&E eps so far!
