Tim Heidecker on Workaholics

He plays a minister in this episode of Workaholics that's airing this week. Also a bunch of gay muscular dudes tongue making out with each other. Lord be crazy sometimes.

cool. is that show any good? It just seemed like some dumb stoner show to me, but of course I've never seen it & I might be wrong, I've just gone by peoples' descriptions.

I've also been thinking lately, considering how many connections T&E have, it's a bit odd how they themselves barely ever appear in shows besides their own. I mean tons of people go on their show, but they've only a few times appeared elsewhere (Sarah Silverman, Bridesmaids, Jon Benjamin, that one skit w/ Peter Serafinowicz, an outtake in that air drumming movie, whatever it was called...all I can really think of). I wonder if they've made a conscious decision to stay out of other peoples' work as much as possible. because they're pretty good at playing straight comedy as well as the weird anti-humour stuff. surely if they wanted they could Ferrell or someone to give them parts.

The show itself is about three guys, who happen to be stoners, that live together and hijinks ensue, the whole nine yards.  You know.  That deal.

They smoke a lot.  In general, there's a lot what I call Bro Imagery floating around.  It really is the ultimate show for bros.  Couldn't be tailored better.

That said, I think it's an all right show worth a few good laughs but it does get on my nerves.  For me, it's not a show I gotta see.  I'm not recording every episode (haven't recorded any for that matter).  If my browsing leads me to Comedy Central and it's on I will certainly watch it.

Some people see the show as a watered-down version of It's Always Sunny.

Anyway... The episode Tim guest starred in, it was called Lord's Force.   Tim has a lot of lines.  In no way was he under-utilized.  Pretty funny episode.  I recommend tracking it down just for Tim alone.

You know, that's a reaallly incredible synopsis. I would say the man happens to be pure evil.

I wish I had seen "The Comedy" when it was near me that one night.

But I should watch this episode for the awesome child molester and tight buttholes.

Are you talking about Tim's episode? because there's not a child molester in that one (in another episode the three guys do unwittingly befriend a child predator, though.)

Butts do come into play in Tim's episode.  I can't refute that.

No, I was talking about that other one. But I have seen zero.

I really wanna see The Comedy. it seems impossible aside from the theaters it was playing at. apparently Tribeca is releasing it later this year on DVD though.

yeah i've heard that comparison. and to me Sunny is pretty overrated anyway. I mean, it's funny, but it's like the people who watch it have never seen black comedy before & think it's the most innovative thing ever.

I can only take so much bro/slacker/stoner culture as well, it starts to grate very quickly.

I'll check out the Tim sode though, def. I was also thinking of checking out Terri because of Tim (& Reilly of course) when I saw it at the library, but the plot sounds like overly sentimental pathos twee garbage, so I decided against it.

I guess it's more "mainstream" acceptable comedy, as Uppercust said, "bros" enjoy this stuff more than the a T&E fan might but who knows...

I saw one episode...it was decent, beats the hell out of watching Tosh.0 on Comedy Central, I'll say that for it...

First of all season 3 of Workaholics is just the worst. Tim should be ashamed for even having associated himself with them in season 3. Eric contact Tim's agent and tell him if he signs up Tim for another episode similar to what he was put through Tim will fire him. You both are geniuses in comedy and I look forward to whatever zany action we might see in the future.

I saw it. Not in Tribeca, though, somewhere in Brooklyn. Flatbush, maybe?

Maybe not where you are.
