it's very unique comedy, which means a lot of people don't understand it.
And it's just a weird psychological dynamic in general.
But I still think, the people who get it, love it.
And some of the people who don't, still feel very emotionally about it.
It's strange to me that people don't seem to be able to figure out that - like if T&E was just boring crap, they wouldn't be compelled to just go so so far out of their way to feel so utterly emotionally about it. Even the haters, are just - insanely keyed up over the show.
Way moreso than any other show or artists on the block.
It amazes me that none of them seem to key into that. That element of how - like they can't get it out of their head or whatever. They almost seem to feel compelled to respond to it.
And if it really was just bad, I would think people could just change the channel and problem solved.
But I honestly think that a lot of these haters are sooo over the top because they have some emotional connection to the work that they don't understand.
So - not only is the work that Tim & Eric do interesting, I think the reactions are interesting as well.
I hope they continue to create and don't get too jaded/brought down by the crap. I love their work and look forward to seeing whatever they do next.
Would love to see more Check It Out w/Brule, New Big Ball w/Neil Hamburger, or anything else they do on Adult Swim or anywhere else.
I think the haters are passionate about it too for some internal reason. If they actually attempted to connect with that instead of investing in fear/ignorance, I actually think a lot of the extreme haters would actually be fans of the work if they let themselves, or if they actually had the mental/psychological fortitude to sit down and figure their own thoughts/feelings out for themselves rather than just barking at things like a pack o' dawgs.
