This is Michael Glosenger. I've had various handles on here, including CalciumDeposit, poiumn, ZincThallinide, astralunicorn, and one I think I'm forgetting. I've used various aliases because I got banned in the early days and then later because I forgot the logins (I tend to linger for a few months, then disappear, reappear, etc).
IN THE PAST, I essentially mocked Tom Goes to the Mayor as pure feces, claiming it had no redeeming value. In hindsight, I realize I as wrong. WHILST TGttM is often silly and oftentimes the plots are without any meaning whatsoever, it nonetheless has various redeeming qualities.
TODAY, I say that TGttM is worthy of watching, but keep this in mind - it is primarily a warning against being a Tom-like entity, i.e. by continually wussing out on all things, marrying an endlessly annoying woman, moving to a nothing town, and continually engaging with an insane, inept, unworthy mayor.
THAT SAID, I'm not sure I'll ever watch more than the first ten episodes of the series (plus the behind the scenes etc extras on DVD #1).
I FEEL that overall the premise of TGttM overly limited the team of Tim & Eric and that their talents were much better expressed in the Awesome Show Great Job! and their later projects. THAT SAID, we all progress through life, moving from here to there, to and fro.
RATS OFF TO YA

LandEmpires! That was it. I think I just forgot the email/pw for that one.
Gone are days of land empires ![]()
I've just now tried to watch more TGTTM but I just can't.. the show is just so grim, a crappy town, Tom is a hapless loser.. I appreciate it as a warning against being Tom-like but I can only take so much.
Having watched TGTTM I realize now that T&EASGJ! is a bit grim itself, but at least it has colorful colors and bright noises and Maria Bamford pitching a face cream, but see how it glistens. Also, Kitty Cat Man. I could go on.
It's more than a feelin', when I hear that old song they used to play.
