Haha, well, yes. They killed Lazzo for a separate reason, though - he said he wasn't gonna give them another season.

I loved PHF because I've seen anime and I know what they were making fun of yet I don't take it so seriously that it's an affront to me. Let the show air and let the ratings speak for themselves instead of bashing the show prematurely. Really, why are you so angry if you haven't even seen the show? Why are you so anal about someone making fun of a cartoon? Please, chill out as your ranting is making you look like another rabid, angry otaku without a cause.

I agree. Perfect Hair Forever was an homage to anime, not another insult towards the otaku. I like anime and even I can admit that.

All I was doing was making a statement about what I thought would happen to Titan Maximum, of course I'll give it a shot and if it fails to impress me I'll change channels. Not like my tv is on [as] very much at all anyway, but I do give new shows a shot.

[adult swim] wanted to do something half way decent I would like to see a Japanese parody of American comedy on [as]. Turn about is fair play, but the comedy fans for the most part have had it too soft over the past years and I really believe they would whine just as loud as any anime fan if poked fun at.

Wow, the whole Japanese parody show of American comedy idea would be an interesting thing to watch. It's intriguing in that I don't see what they could parody, unless they get some big breasted Japanese hottie to dress up like Killface or Early or something. I'd like to see that. :smileyvery-happy:

For all we know, Titan Maximun could be a tribute to anime instead of something that makes fun of and bashes it. Plus the whole world of cartoons is built based on plagirism. Without Simpsons, we wouldnt have Family Guy. Without Pokemon, no Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh. No Eva=No Eureka 7. If we tell people not to pay tribute to ideas, where are they gonna come from?

Hey, The Simpsons did a whole bunch of parodies of great books or movies, and don't forget the South Park episode where butters (was it butters or cartman? it's been a while since i saw that episode) was pissed because The Simpsons had already done an episode on everything.

But your arguement helps to prove my point. Even The Simpsons is guilty of stealing ideas that came before it. Thats what most cartoons do (Especially Family Guy). Pay tribute to the works that came before them.

I think it would be hilarious to watch anything from Japan in a parody of [as] comedy. Could you imagine a live action Perfect Hair Forever like you just described!!!! :smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:

hey, hey, there's no fights here, just "discussions." :smileyhappy:

I'd love to see a giant condom on a live action version of Uncle Grandfather! That tiny little bikini bottom Brenda wears would be something to put on a HBO softcore porno though.

I think you're just applying your opinion to everyone else here. Maybe parodying animes got old to you years ago, but that's not the case for a lot of people who aren't so uptight about the stuff.

I'll give Titan Maximum a shot, espescially since Green/Senreich haven't disappointed me.

Reading about the plot brings up dim memories of Voltron and G-Force.

Who knows, if that show succeeds, they may start playing anime on weekdays again.

If anime ever returns to weekdays, I think something like this would be pretty profitable:

12:30 AM: Bleach

1:00 AM: Full Metal Alchemist/Cowboy Bebop

1:30 AM: Moribito (Its coming back this Summer for the entire run)/Blood +

2:00 AM: InuYasha

Of course, however, anime's return to weekdays isnt guarenteed just because of a higly rated anime parody. People liking an anime homage doesnt mean they'll like the animes themselves.

Well, well look how wrong everyone was about Titan Maximum.  Highest ever rating for an AS Original. :smileyhappy:  Plus, it is really good, too, if I say so myself. :smileywink:
