My take on things? I'm staying gold.

Personally I feel pretty optimistic overall we were successful at bringing back Toonami because of the love and support we all showed via the [adultswim] message board, facebook, twitter, letters, and I'm sure even in videos and fan art. Thanks to being able to share thoughts, and emotions in whatever kind of form you feel best conveys them to everyone in the world in a matter of seconds we didn't just bring back a TV series, we brought back an entire subchannel on a channel(with the help of Steve Blum, [as], and Jason DeMarco).

I know some of us might of got caught up in nostalgia during and after April 1st it was easy to do if you were a big fan of Toonami years ago, and you were a fan of some of the old school shows that we got to enjoy while having our fond memories of Toonami fresh in mind but we were making memories too. However memories are memories they are done & gone but that is the way of life everything changes in life and we have to accept that and be thankful for what we have/had and do our best with the changes. Yes the line up isn't the greatest one ever invented but it is far from  the worst ever besides we got Toonami back and that's what we missed most I think. It wasn't just the shows that were on the block that made you love Toonami they were only part of the memory even if they are big part or good part. I know from reading peoples threads and posts that we also fondly remember TOM, SARA, the Absolution, of course Steve Blums voice, and everything else Toonami gave us aside from the shows.

I agree a 3 hour block is waaaay too short, and it's sad not to see any retro Toonami shows but on a good note not only does it have good shows with strong followings and appeal like Cowboy Bebop, Ghost In The Shell, and Full Metal Alchemist which right there is a decent chunk of retro goodness although FMA: Brotherhood is new and revamped it's still has a lot in common with the original FMA series which is familiar to a decent portion of us and to those who don't know it might just get into it. Plus there is Bleach which is still releasing new episodes and has a pretty strong following, and there is Casshern Sins, and Deadman Wonderland which are new shows to American television which all in all I think fits the original spirit of Toonami fairly well which was to try and bring people the best possible action shows and ones that were new to American airwaves. Trigun was a show new to American airwaves once upon a time and it didn't have a super strong following until it ran on [as] for a while, or Yu Yu Hakusho is another good example better suited for Toonami I think.

I am not saying we should just be perfectly content with the current schedule, the block size Toonami was granted, or the fact they don't have the funds for Sarah but they are on budget at the moment this is a rebirth and they are doing the best they can they aren't doing this with the hopes of failure. Toonami wasn't always what it was in the early to about mid 2000's(until later 2000's becasuse some seriously ill decision making at Cartoon Network which lead to it's cancellation. To get Toonami back up to prime it will need our support again like it did when it was born, and  just like when bringing it back it will need us to flourish, and from what I've seen I honestly believe the support is there. Personally I think there is far more good then bad, we're just starting small and there is nothing wrong with that.

i want to add in here, while i can, that YuYu Hakuho isnt old toonami, Its old ASA. Toonami took it in for a short period of time, but it was ASA that originally aired it

Actually Toonami Aired it for a longer period of Time then ASA, as I recall ASA only got to the second story arc, the one where they go to the demon tower or what not, where as Toonami got to the Battle with that evil ex- spirit detective guy. Sadly neither block showed YYH in its entirety, as neither block showed the final story arc. Probably why the DVDs for that arc sold so well...supposedly, lol.

same side of a coin lol. it was ASA's before it was Toonami, and to say that YYH is a Toonami classic is like saying PPG was because it aired a few times on Toonami.

Your lack of proper punctuation and capitalization make the grammar Nazi in me scream, "Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnn!" But the nostalgic, hopeful, and anime-loving weeaboo in me makes me optimistic about Toonami's future as well. It may not be everything we want it to be right now, but the only way we're ever gonna get there is by supporting the block and spreading the word. In other words, I completely agree with everything you said. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a cable connection to hookup again.

My memory isn't the greatest but I try.

To be honest I had no idea it ran on [as] I must of not been watching the [as] anime blocks at that time or didn't have cable or dish at the time.

It is a great thing to see that when people combine their efforts into a common cause the results that can happen. I'll support the block no matter what and besides more viewership= more $$$= more shows= more fans= making Toonami as big as possible

I am hoping that this block becomes a success and remain as such. Toonami was a big part of my childhood and I don't want to see it go away so soon.

As for the three hour block bieng too short, I think they did that due to lack of funding. If funding occurs, we should be able to justify twelve shows on it. Also, old shows should be one, maybe two of the block at best; the rest should give new shows a chance.

Fan of Toonami, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Super Smash Bros, An American Tail, Mega Man and especially Astro Boy!
Support Toonami's return and watch it every weekend so that we can get more exciting new shows!
For all fans of Toonami: http://toonamifaithful.com/forums/index.php
Toonami shows I want: Astro Boy (any version uncut), Sailor Moon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ruroni Kenshin, The Prince of Tennis, Death Note, Transformers: Armada, Gurren Lagann, Full Metal Panic, Hunter X Hunter (1998), Ranma 1/2, Street Figher II V, The Boondock, and Spawn: The Animated Series

I think that's pretty much what I said.

Although I didn't really say how much retro goodness would work. I think an hour would be great for a 3 hour block, and 2 hours for a 6 hour block would fit right. I'm not saying retro Toonami shows, just classic action shows anime or not in general.

[just for clarification I am not suggesting live action when I say classic action]
