All I can say is...
Mature toonami =/= horrific toonami.
Mature toonami =/= bloody toonami.
Toonami may be back on [as] but that doesn't mean it need to intentonally try and, well, for lack of an actual word, "outgore" itself. It doesn't need to try and come off as more violent or bloody nor does it need to come off as fearful. Unknown is alright, since toonami itself was always a block that had felt out of this world.
The original toonami was like a model for the way that anime should be presented in the U.S. Even AS ACTN in its older days was obviously turning to toonami for influence. There's nothing wrong with the absolution formula. The ship is complex enough and the block manages to keep very nice technology making a viewer in awe of it. Also if they fix the music problem... And the whole fact of the name of the host TOM, it's actually kind of okay. Chaos just sounds like "we're trying too hard." Try a different name. The whole point of there being a name like TOM is to try and make the block more relatable and to balance out its errie-ness. Also TOM stands for Toonami Operations Module.
But if toonami even tries to be too horrific or overly bloody, it's going to fail... It's just supposed to show us a new standard of quality action. And Anarchy (chaos), horror, nor blood and gore summarize action.
