I know that much and I don't know how old your kids are but I doubt they would be up when the raunchy stuff hits. This is also why I believe CN should have it's own block again for new Shonen anime and action cartoons... At 12 Am it is kind of hard for a new generation to see everything Toonami related.
As I stated earlier most of the people that grew up with Toonami are either in their late teens or in their 20s. It is our generation that believed Toonami would one day return and it has. Yes we are older and AS knew we would want cartoons that were a bit more mature. Yes I still love almost every show that Toonami had but it is stuff we grew up with so we are bound to like it.
The new generation needs a weekday block or atleast a early Saturday block to introduce them to some of the old shonen anime like DBZ, Sailor Moon, Gundam, Zoids, Ect. Plus some new like Naruto. Honestly unless something like this happens they will never feel the same way we do... We had a lot more exposure to TOM throughout the years and this is why we love him. Toonami began to die out so a generation could never fully enjoy the experience.
I am not saying I won't watch new shonen if it shows up on the new Toonami but I don't think it will fit. Old shonen would but as I said we grew up with it so it would have the nostalgia factor... It would be ok for a while but things still need to grow up a bit and progress.
On another note I love Toonami so much that I would watch anything related to it so I am not trying to be biased. Also if our generation did not want it back I doubt it would have ever seen the light of day again so at least they now have a chance to enjoy this stuff someday.

As far as new anime goes:
Fate/Zero (assuming it gets dubbed in the first place)
Jormungand (2013)
Persona 4: The Animation
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
And though I haven't seen it, I think having the new Lupin series airing on Toonami would be pretty cool.

These shows aren’t necessarily what I want to see but I believe that they would be the most successful for the demographic your seeking.
Blue Exorcist – Long running with decent action and plot. This should appeal to the DBZ equivalent fans. Although getting the license might be hard
Batman TAS/ Batman Beyond – Duh it was a seminal piece that influences to this day. As stated before the hub is showing it so that could be a problem.
Soul Eater – Its style will keep people interested despite the lackluster story.
Paranoia Agent – I admit this is for me, I don’t believe teens would care for this.
Eden of the East – It breaks the typical anime mold making it more interesting than most spy/mystery stories.
Megas XLR – It just works on so many levels, its funny, action packed and etc.
Samurai Jack – Again it style makes up for its lack of story
Level E – It fills in the FLCL gap except it is a lot better
Gundam / Macross / Votoms – There all interchangeable but still have a great story and it has mechs! Which any real male will love
Outlaw Star – A classic
Reign the Conquer – lol I’m kidding
Sengoku Basara – Its action packed over the top nature would be an easy sell to people
The Twelve Kingdom – It’s the best fantasy anime out there and its epic story will easily catch peoples attention
Gurren Lagann – Only if they would redo the dub, good grief it almost destroys the who show.
Monster – It’s a very mature series but that isn’t because of violence or nudity its just a very deep story that doesn’t rely on action in every ep. I would think that would be a nice ending show so people could unwind after all the action while still getting a great story
----Movie Suggestions / Specials-------
Akira – duh
Giant Robo OVA – I bet the licensing would be dirt cheap and it’s a commonly overlooked masterpiece of story telling & action
Sword of the Stranger – It’s a well told and well animated that’s worth a watch
REDLINE – uh it should be shown because its kickass. Granted the nudity would need to be blurred or cut out
P.S. Oh and as a side note if you really want to mess with some kids minds how about slotting Brigadoon / Nobody's Boy - Remi right at 4pm. I would love to see all the children be taken in by the friendly animation then watch them get suicidal by the absolute misery and hell the characters go through.
P.P.S If you (Adult Swim) think I'm brillant at scheduling then feel free to hire me!

Batman TAS/ Batman Beyond – Duh it was a seminal piece that influences to this day. As stated before the hub is showing it so that could be a problem.
Soul Eater – Its style will keep people interested despite the lackluster story. Agreed.
Paranoia Agent – I admit this is for me, I don’t believe teens would care for this. Only seen one episode of this so agreed. ALso a great way to remember Satoshi Kon.
Eden of the East – It breaks the typical anime mold making it more interesting than most spy/mystery stories. Seen this, and the movies. Would be a good addition for those who like to think a bit.
Megas XLR – It just works on so many levels, its funny, action packed and etc.

The Twelve Kingdom – It’s the best fantasy anime out there and its epic story will easily catch peoples attention
Gurren Lagann – Only if they would redo the dub, good grief it almost destroys the who show. YES, although with SyFy reruning it thrice and it being available on countless other outlets, people may be tired of it by now.

I think it'd be great for a CN toonami but hold on.
DC Nation = problem. If CartoonNetwork has just begun this onslaught of DC cartoons, why should we give them an anime competition by throwing toonami back in? I say let DC nation have its run. The block itself is not even bad. Young Justice is a great cartoon, the most mature one I've seen from CN since 2008. Let DC Nation have its run, maybe it might turn out to be a really great action block. Then when DC Nation slows down, introduce more animes and toonami related stuff.
I think in the end CN is crying for an advanced action block in general. They should replace their current Saturday night showing, The Flicks, the next chance they get for some good action programs mixing both american action cartoons and animes. I mean seriously, why do they think that viewers on a saturday night want to watch a bunch of 2/5 star rated kid movies? get rid of that as soon as possible for some really nice action programs. I actually think that there would be a great place to end this "massive shonen anime" dispute. Shows like Naruto and One Piece should go there.

My picks:
Darker Than Black
Tiger and Bunny
Black Lagoon
Sengoku Basara
Kurogane No Line Barrels.
Sengoku Basara is my number one pick overall. Has great action and can easily appeal to the crowd looking for that type of stuff.
It woudn't be a good idea for AS to air Otaku type shows. Those programs have limited appeal and definitely does not attract the viewers that keep Bleach above the other anime in ratings.

It's not even that Clannad is too "otaku centric" but I mean seriously, does that anime suit adult swim at all? does it even suit the whole of CartoonNetwork? No way, it's just too soft. It has made me cry a lot and I do praise it but it just... that does not fit anywhere with toonami's atmosphere.

Yes my thoughts exactly. I love DC nation, though I sleep through most of it, and think it adds new life to CN. I believe CN is trying to make up for past mistakes with this action. Also I don't think a new CN Toonami would conflict with DC nation but bring back a lot of people that have started ignoring the channel altogether.
If CN had both DC Nation and Toonami I would know that they cared about action again. I am just as happy with a AS Toonami though...

This seems to be a recurring problem with people’s suggestions. Your not thinking of what CN/AS can actually show, instead you keep posting what you want to see. Instead think “what do I want to see that can be actually shown”. So although it’s only my opinion I believe these ideas should be going through your head while picking shows
1) The violence needs to be PG-13, All violence needs to be bloodless or have very little blood. Don’t show shows like Shigurui Death Frenzy
2) No explicit sex, nudity or fanservice. Don’t show shows like Desert Punk
3) No moe / pedo / slice of life – This is such a niche that it wouldn’t even come close to reaching a wide audience. Who would watch an action block then see something in this genre? It would be a buzz kill and most people don’t want to watch it including myself. Don’t show shows like Clannad
4) Shows with overt herto/ #### sexual over & undertones. Could you imagine what would happen if parent groups found a show airing that had these traits on what is considered a kids network. Don’t show shows like Black Butler

There so many moe/cute/slife of life animes being made right now, I would suggest someone start a premium channel that only shows that kind of anime! Not even the Funimation Channel shows a lot of that anymore!

@DubV: Clanned is like WAY too OTAKU-CENTRIC. Not to sound rude, but I would prefer Toonami play anime that actually fits the CN/AS demo's. Not that niche/Otaku centric shows are bad, but most of em just don't seem to fit TOONAMI IMO.
Ya I feel ya, but I don;t think it would do bad, even though half the internet already seen it

Air doesn't jell with the demographic [AS] is seeking. Moe and slice of life is a small niche to begin with and i can't imagine it will suddenly become main stream.

Yet again it is AS not CN bringing back Toonami. AS plays by a different set of rules. My current problem with these is the fact that I could easily watch them on Netflix...
That's a very good point but what about the community and sense of nostalgia? Can't really replicate that on Netflix but maybe those don't matter to most, I don't know.
