Dat beautiful HD! The new graphics were amazing! TOM looked amazing! The absolution was amazing! The robots and space bumps were amazing! Come on, what did you guys think about the facelift for Toonami?

hells yeah!! going to keep adding to this as I notice things

first off, i'd like to mention that I thought the use of lighting in the Toonami opening was very clever. In particular, i noticed how the first few seconds of the control room on the Absolution is dimmed out, but slowly gets brighter just as TOM enters. Also, as TOM makes his way from the doorway to his new geared up throne/chair, you can see the lighting become more fixated on TOM's throne, giving it this glow of excellency as TOM takes the helm once again at the Absolution control module...

Also, I think I saw some friggen speakers in TOM's throne/chair!! (i want one)

they did a great job with the Animation to tom, the absolution....makes me kinda giddy to see sara back and what they will do with her

I got one gripe about the CG though: everything looks colder.  Blue is common in space, but everything look less exciting to me.  Other than that, it's perfect.

Yeah, they did a fantastic job with the CGI. So crisp and gorgeous. 

It's a good example of a redesign DONE RIGHT

The bumps for the most part look amazing I just wish they were a bit longer and hope that they make longer bumps when they get the right funding for Toonami. The hodgepodge bumps bring me back to the 2003-2007 era of Toonami.

TOM and the Absolution look absolutely gorgeous now, and I loved the star fields in the background of the space scenes too. I never quite took as much of a liking to TOM 3 as I did to TOM 2 before now, but just making him more reflective and tweaking his colors a bit so he looks more "dark blue and silver" than "blue-green and gray" did wonders. I love it.

The bumps and set-up are just a carbon copy of the Toonami set-up from the Saturday move in 2004 to the 10th Anniversary in 2007.

It looks tacky and lame imo. Need a new setup and the Tom 3.5 sales pitch isn't cutting it. How about Tom 5, a robot who looks like he can kill anyone who crosses him.  He could even have a red visor.

Why not? Because that isn't TOM.

TOM is a friend of all. He flies an awesome spaceship, provides the best in action-animation and anime for all to see, does game reviews, introduces us to new music, has good charisma, has a lovable attitude, and even teaches us a few things every now and then.

Not quite the qualities of a super mega death robot.

This.  IMO, the only TOM versions that have any business hosting the new main block are 2.0 and 3.0.  And I coulda swore that I saw somewhere that the new upgraded TOM is officially TOM 3.5.  I think it was in some DeMarco tweets where he was teasing the new designs that day before it aired.

For anyone who cares and has not noticed, "TOM 3.5"'s colors on his head differ slightly.  That white/gray spot right above his visor is now dark and transparent-looking.  Also, to me he is now more streamlined and less bulky or clunky looking.

I think someone tweeted to DeMarco about the new TOM, and asked if it was like a "TOM 3.5" of sorts, and DeMarco replied with a yes while also saying that he liked that name.

Yes and the custom ranks had a TOM 3.5 rank. I love everything about the new Toonami though at the moment it still feels a bit plain...This a not a complaint though! It just means I get to watch Toonami grow all over again!

Also hoping to see SARA again....

I don't see why they didn't call him TOM 3.1.  That would've made renaming future versions easier, and that's the way actual computer companies name their products like Adobe or Apple.

The custom ranks were thrown together by helpers, though, so that's not exactly official.

Kind of wish they'd just named the new TOM "TOM 5" though.  I think he's sufficiently different from 3 that they could move up a number.

I do love the new look, but the cleanliness and the shading makes it more 'animated'. Like some parts look like they were drawn instead of rendered in CG. Does anyone else see this or is it just me?

As an animator, I applaude the effort the team took!  It makes me wanna model and animate my own TOM.

Yeah he is awesome. I mean even the small motion of pushing buttons looks amazing.
