seems a bit premature to write Samurai 7 off as ratings suicide.

A very nice poster reminded me of something not too long ago, the boards do not dictate how well a show is liked, or how much it is watched. If the boards were any real indication of a shows worth, KOTH would of been dead and gone a year or two ago already(the folder receives almost no activity and half of it seems to be hate) but it has steadily pulled in the ratings(for the most part). Also, the few people who don't like something tend to make a big fuss and get other users to jump on the hate/pessimism bandwagon. I never really considered myself a Toonami faithful until just now(I think I've been in some kind of denial or something, I don't know how I didn't notice before), but that's what we all need to be. Some shows are going to be kind of crap, Toonami was just a bunch of crap on CN that they didn't have a block for but wanted to package together, thus after a few mis-fires Toonami was born, and it scraped by until it got lucky and gained DBZ a show no-one was really interested in (seemingly) over here, but people ended up loving. DeMarco has even admitted that it was a lucky break, and made Toonami what it was in it's prime by the increase in viewers which blew the doors open and made anything seem possible for a while. We all just need to hold on tight, take Toonami for what it is and what they are trying to do, and be patient til they can find something that really hits home like they did on CN. Being pessimistic and doom saying isn't really constructive nor does it help Toonami do any better.

Hey guys, I recently talked to Jason DeMarco on the issue involving Samurai 7.

This is what I said to him.

And this is what I said to him after he replied to my last comment.

Yeah I figured that. Your profile picture in Twitter was the same as the one here in the boards. When I saw it, I said, "Hey that's probably NoireAirwave there".

I don't blame him one bit, I don't get the irrationality of people that are suppose to be Toonami supporters. It's new and on an extremely low budget, the only other choice then doing what they are doing for new shows now would of been to invest on something way more expensive and get less shows, and then people would of complained all day because of the re-runs. Right now the way some Toonami fans are acting, there is no way Toonami could succeed if that was the whole fan base because to them Toonami is damned if they and they are damned if they don't. Eitherway Toonami could of went I believe people would still be complaining and harassing DeMarco for no reason, other then him bringing back something they wanted and trying his hardest to help it succeed. If they would of been given a blank check I could see all the complaining about them just scraping by, but that's what they did before(not like they are purposely trying to re-walk their own foot prints), and that's all they can do until they find something bigger and affordable even if they just get lucky again(well that and they can hope that Toonami fans will back and support what it's trying to do even if getting off the ground is going to take some work and some time).

Isn;t it amazing how we are all so suddenly clairvoiant and we can instantly tell what the ratings are gonna be a few weeks before the #### thing even STARTS?!

Chill Pickles, will ya? I think this show sounds inrteguing and can;t wait to give it a try! Let's let the reatings decide this, Hmmmm?

No, "damned if they do, damned if they don't" would describe the reaction if they had gotten Panty & Stocking. This, on the other hand, is a pretty valid concern. Nobody cares how small their budget is. The issue is that there are probably a lot of cheap shows they could have acquired that weren't as overplayed as Samurai 7. Did we forget that this was one of the reasons [as] is one of the only networks still playing anime anymore?

All that being said, I think I'm done trying to concern myself with this. They don't seem to care too much about how well it'll do in the ratings, so for the time being, neither will I.

lol if you say so, one show and a bunch of re-runs would of made people real happy I can tell...

:smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:

Oh yeah I didn't realize they could of got some other older cheaper show that people would be complaining about because it's old and cheap or some other absurd reason(more like one of their favorite shows didn't get added to the line up). Like I said before: "damned if they do, damned if they dont". If you want to argue this point further go right ahead from here on out it's whatever you say man. I'm not going to beat a dead horse.

My god you people LOVE to complain. I completely understand if you have an opinion, I really do. But, If you don't like a show just move on and dont watch it.

It's as simple as that.
