Let's hope this doesn't break any of those rules.

I wish this block the best in it's fight to regain any semblance to it's golden years, but it may be a pipe dream.

Going by most of the buzz Saturday night, most of the "faithful" watch Toonami by different means.

Regardless, surely Saturday's viewers topped the usual ASA turn outs.

I'm confident that Toonami made a huge difference in ratings then just as ASA alone

the name it self brings a lot of viewers that thought it was ended for good

All of my friends watched Toonami, I think the ratings will be good, but...

The SNL Season Finale was on that night too, I believe, and some viewers knew they would be able to watch it next week, so why not wait? In my opinion, Adult Swim needs to get just enough to purchase something amazing like DBZ or Gundam (yes, you've hear their names a lot recently, but keep listening) that would really pull in the ratings, and then they'd get even more, so they could purchase good new and classic anime!

I don't know what the ratings will be, Twitter will have to be constantly checked, probably on Wednsday, if any day. But it's my personal belief that Toonami would have been at least somewhat succesful, just like in the old days. 

Perhaps if we could get it on a little earlier, then more people would toon in. That's just me.

Anyway, can't wait for next Saturday; the next episode of Casshern Sins is supposed to be epic, and I already know that the next episode of Deadman Wonderland will be! Plus, the other anime don't hurt either, at all!

I want to be optimistic considering that this has so much potential to be amazing, but I am very worried about the turnout tomorrow. The massive fan demand helps, but there's no way to tell how faithful supporters will be.

Sounds very promising.

Bleach was also #1 in its' time slot for adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24. So at least 1.5 hours of Toonami did reasonably well.

I linked to them elsewhere, but long story short, DW and Casshern both took home #1 spots for ratings in their timeslots, and I think Bleach did too.

Do you know how many people watched those shows overall? I want to see the numbers, not just that got #1 for the timeslots (which is good news, but I want more concrete detail).

I don't think actual numbers are publicly available yet. Percentages for this sort of thing are easier, I think.

But, according to Demarco's twitter, as long as ratings don't drop below pre-Toonami [as] anime night levels, Toonami is at least safe.

The ratings are for getting more of the stuff we want (I assume this includes things like SARA coming back, and a bigger budget in general)

To be fair, they run the "Toonami is Back Bitches" promo during Family Guy's first run on at least Wednesday and Thursday the 16th and 17th. I heard they ran it during the comedy portion on Saturday the 19th as well. I'm a little surprised they did that much.

You're asking a lot of them to promote something in the peak weekday comedy hours where they could be getting mucho ad revenue instead of promoting Toonami.

But for the time being I don't think it's too much to ask to promote Toonami during an episode of Family Guy or between episodes of Robot Chicken. You know what Lazzo says about anime promotion not signiciantly improving ratings though.

That isn't a great start, especially considering this is the first airing, I highly doubt you'll be getting more views once the hype wears down honestly.

So Demarco said that the ratings were "okay" but not a measurable improvement from last week. I'm kind of surprised at that, however I feel there's a couple things we should take into consideration here.

1. Bleach is an [as] anime night mainstay, so it's not really surprising that its ratings didn't change too much
2. DW and Casshern were both premiers. Even if their ratings were just "okay" by the standards of an average show, that's still good for a first episode, is it not?
3. Most importantly, this just means we need to try harder. And keep tuning in, writing letters, and so on. Gotta stay faithful.

I believe, as long as, Toonami keeps bringing Original Animes, it will be around for a long time and still have it viewers. This means no more DBZ,Naruto, or Gundam. Those shows been played out by numerous tv channels. Detective Conan, One Piece, Angel Beats, etc... would keep Toonami afloat. Yeah, DBZ is what brought many people to watch Toonami in the first place, but its getting stale. Honestly, you guys know there are plenty of episodes you will skip just because its overly boring. All in all, I will continue watching Toonami; I know they will choose the best options they have. Everyone just keep watching and you might never know... you may be surprised to see some new anime that just completely changes your world . Keep up the Good Work Toonami and Adult Swim!
